I love the leaderboard

I just came back to the game after a few months, and now we have a leaderboard?!
This is really welcome news. Finally a great way to see who's the best of the best.

    Ugh... you'll be disillusioned soon, so brace yourself. Leaderboard not only doesn't mean much, but introducing it made the behavior of many players even worse than it was before (staying in spawn to keep good kill/death ratio, leaving the match to avoid dropping rank and such).

    It doesn't show who's "best of the best". The leaderboard is a good idea yes but you can go down in rank even if you win and most people who are on top pages are there because they go in with full premades or use things like glyphs. Many gf players got to high pages because of using the glyph and Kv combo, basically meaning they could hardly ever lose so its not all fair. However some players are top because they are very good and play a lot though. If leaderboards was fixed and matchmaking was fair then it would truly show the best pvpers or at least the best pvpers who play a lot.

    Don't expect the system to be anywhere close to what it's like in other games that have a decent leaderboard and matchmaking. Ones that have long learned to punish those that d/c instead of allow them to keep their ranking.

    This is what drives me nuts. I play to have fun. I like trying to stay in the top 100 pages with my GF by playing an honest competitive objective focused game. I leveled through domination matches and love PVP. When other people quit, it sucks, it makes it no fun.

    What do you mean? Does that mean the top page players are likely not the best pvpers in the game?

    As i said, many of them are but then many are far from. I have 18k gs on my gf and am at a good lvl but still only rank 7 enchants and stuff yet i have fought players on pages 1-5 and beat them. I have met many gf players who are high on leaderboards and they have only got there because of the kv + glyph combo and full premade team.

    Just think, a strong team of 4 with 20k + gs could invite a weaker guy with 14k or more and win most games they play and that guy with less gs will make it high on leaderboards but that doesn't mean they are good just that they go with a strong team so they might play ell together but some people are far from the best pvp players.

    Leaderboard records whom PvPs often, not the best PvPers.

    I used to be on the last page for awhile! All zeros. Oh well, I had to ruin that sometime with a win. : shrugs: It was funny though with the reset - all zeros and yet I still had 16+K Glory.

    You gonna be disappointed.

    - you drop when you win vs low ELO pugs. What this means? You can be page 2, win 15 games in a row/no losses, end up on page 3.
    - people disconnect at the last moment to avoid a loss. Was reported in forums, and in private messages to devs NUMEROUS TIMES, 2 months ago. We were promised the people abusing this would get their stats reset.
    Nothing happened, and people still abuse it.
    - running duo semi-premade is better for rating than anything else, usually. Carrying low ELO pugs to victory will make you go up.
    - as mentioned above, the more you PvP, the better your chance to go up. You won't see people with 30 games on the top 3 pages, all played hundreds.

    So, as you can see, the Leaderboard is VOID. Some players on the top pages are good, many are just pugs, and even more are just nabs that are carried by their guilds/friends/gear.

    Is there bias to these assessments? Out of curiosity are any of you in the top few pages and still agree that the leaderboard is meaningless?

    I'm a gf and when I was pvping for the dom quests each day I made it to page 14 and i am happy with that and yes i still find the leaderboards meaningless. To me they have made pvp worse. Players give up far more because of them (not wanting to lose ranking) and you can go down in rank even if you win. Also players attitudes have become worse since leaderboards was implemented and the main thing is they don't even show who is best pvpers.

    Then the glyphs, exploiters, cheaters, and BS cheese builds started getting popular, then I gave up. I only PVP when it's the Lord's daily. It's seriously so bad right now. The leaderboard means nothing, NOTHING. It's been exploited since day 1. There is a way to avoid losses but I won't go into detail.

    TL;DR: Leaderboard means nothing.

    I like your naive dreaming ;-)

    I can confirm, leaderboard means nothing at all.
    My best position was second at page 1, mod3 page1, mod4 page 1, and I can honestly say: leaderboard in the current state is <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font>, meaningless and has even negative influence on player behaviour.

    I like to PvP from time to time but i mostly now do daily phinx and GG because there is something odd in some battles. I met crixus in GG and in Domination and i can say its a Wall of iron, hard to kill. But in some cases there are Dom rounds in were i dont know why or how some players have insane damage. Im not considering me an elite player but im not bad and there are things i can believe.

    And yeah some players have crazy dps, i have been hit over 20k many times from single attacks and more but when i see a player doing near 100k its usually down to glyphs. I met a hr with 2 greater glyphs and after testing he did 50k dmg to me in 4 seconds and glyphs work for all classes well apart from us gf now and gwf. Hopefully if they get removed things will balance out more. But if its not glyphs then not sure, probably just maxed chars going for high dps.

    Personal opinion here:

    Urgh...don't get me started on the leaderboard and I don't even PVP much. It's caused some unpleasant changes in an already rough PVP crowd, enforces elitism, and makes for terrible matches in which people are more concerned with their personal ranking on the leaderboard than teamwork in a match.

    I'd put in a quote I use a lot from Jurassic Park 2, but it just wouldn't be constructive. It's just...not a good idea.

    It takes a lot of work to get there pugging, got page 1 or 2 on low level characters a few times while never using a premade, not easy when low level pvp has premades of vet twink characters you fight regularly.

    This "leader"board is the worst score board in any game I have ever played.

    I did not pvp after getting all the 10 tasks done in Mod 3. Came back and played 5 games this week, won all of them only to see I dropped in rank with every win. Then I lost a game but gone up in rank. Won 6 more and dropped in rank 4 times and went up twice.

    This ranking system is incredibly stupid. Maybe the reason is I only joined the PUG solo.

    Or was that JP1?

    But negative feedback IS constructive - the developers then know what is wrong with the game and have a clue what to do to improve it.
