Issues with Change Appearance

I've been having trouble for some time now with the Change Appearance feature. I've messed it up twice now, because for some reason I get a great close up shot of my character's hip (or a really close up shot of her cheek if I zoom in), but I can't see anything else beyond this. I figure it's got something to do with my settings, as it doesn't happen if I log in on my laptop, but I'd love to know what's up with my gaming computer's settings.
