Just abandon the system completely and have the game award drops personally. No rolling, no loot windows, no confusion, no one can see what you get, no jealousy, no problems. The game already assigns loot only you can see and pick up in the CTA skirmishes. Lets just do it for everything. So we can FINALLY stop trying to fix this broken, archaic, loot system.
I'm for this. You work, you get paid. Simple. (Talking about the character.. HE/SHE worked.. not saying the game is work [cuz I know someone would just HAVE to say something.])
I never understood why a game provider would deliberately introduce 'bones of contention' into their content. "Hey, let's make our players hate each other! That will be amusing."
I don't think anyone said that, of course but I wonder if they realize that is what is happening. Open world PvP? Yeah, toss out 3 fishes to 5 hungry mouths, by all means. But let allied players enjoy the content without worrying about their mates picking their pockets...
Whether it is loot or quest objectives... or even action items.. (such as when some dolt decides to camp at the anvil in Dread Ring..) Remove the things that make players unnecessarily grit their teeth..
Edit- Suggestion for action objects, like that anvil.. make them send out a small repel when a player is in proximity for too long. It takes 2 seconds to make a gauntlet. Make it and/or move..
(Currently I just switch instances to get around it.)

Well here is the thing, with that system, they HAVE to go with the RNG BS in module 4 because there is no way they will guarantee extremely valuable loot in delves chest.
I say no thank you to do RNG BS we have in mod 4.
I prefer to just get rid of the "need" button.
I think they need to go with SM's plan.. Put nice drops from sub bosses, really good drops from bosses, and a REALLY great loot in the chest. For every player. Make them BoP, I don't care. If they want to add a timer or other conditions to get these drops, that works, but just take out the angst.

This is actually a really good idea. Take the need button off so you're greeding on the okay drops from the sub bosses, but leave all the really good armor sets in the chest (taking out the HAMSTER items that the sub bosses drop) People would gear up faster, and you'd lose all the fighting over armor sets. I could see this being a problem for last boss kicking and recruiting though.
Actually, I was implying that running PUGs and not wanting to let someone who actually needs something you can't even use have it because you want to sell it is being a jerk. I still stand by that. Wanting to run dungeons with people who agree you're all getting an equal chance at whatever drops whether you can use it or not? Totally different.
If it was agreed upon at the beginning of the match that it would be a greed run, I don't see how anyone would think each party member having 20% chance at the loot would make anyone a jerk. Only a fool would think that.

No x.x no forever x.x not another change to loot system x.x people was blaming about old loot system during open beta and for few day of live and we got a shiny HAMSTER system for loot -.- If an item is for Dc, stop blame if he do need on it. Make a Dc and do the run too and take that item. Stop ask all the time for change on loot or prob the next change will be something even worst of that system we have now. It's impossible all the time someone have problem whit all the aspect of the game... if you don't like it, change game and stop ruin the game for the old player.

Well it depends on the loot rules agreed upon at the start of the run. Again like in most aspects of life, communication is key. This is an MMO.

Already get the reward from the chest, the drop is just a bonus.
I been gearing up a couple chars. I don't mind greed as least I can get the reward from the chest which was my goal anyway.

This is actually a really good idea.
