Aura of Cruelty - how does it apply?

Aura of Cruelty
"Allies within 20ft of you Life Steal for 5% more" (at 5pts spent)

How does the game interpret/calculate this?

a) 5% of their LS stat added - (very weak)

b) 5% of their Damage gained as Hit Points stat added to that stat - (meh)

c) an extra flat 5% to their Damage gained as Hitpoints stat - (better)

d) 5% of the amount of hit points stolen extra gained - (meh)

e) does nothing at all - (fail)


none of a) , b) or c) are showing up on the char sheet stats when I've tested with a guildie.

I'm not set up to do any real in depth testing of this, has anybody got any insight to offer? I'll be respeccing and these 5pts could be better spent elsewhere potentially.

Thread consensus seems to be option C and you are also treated as an ally.

So all in all a worthwhile feat methinks.

    option C

    it's what makes obtaining 20% life-steal actually possible and even more with draconic set and final dragon boon.

    my base life-steal is about 14%. with aura of cruelty it's at 19% and my draconic set pushed it to 22%. that rises to 23% after a critical.

    Unless I am misunderstanding something in your response, you are saying it's option f - a self buff added to your damage gained as hit points stat and not a party buff?

    Or are you saying that it works that way for allies and considers you to be an ally as well?

    party buffs also affect yourself so you get to reap the benefits as well.

    Some do and some don't. But I can see now on my char sheet that my stat is being boosted by 5%, will try and get a party member to recheck and see if theirs is or not.

    Still can't get the buff to show on a party member/ally's stat sheet (in or out of combat). Can you confirm the ally bonus is working?

    OK I retested. Also agree it's option C to what demonkyuubi said. Makes it a decent feat.
    The icon does show up on their buff bar when I stand within 20' of other players, but I haven't tested whether they do get the effect.

    They do on their stats as well. I tried with fellow guildies and their % stolen on their character sheet goes up by five percent when they are close to me. Whether this works in real HP healed I have not verified.

    On a completely unrelated matter ... can anyone recommend a good guild? :)
