I am curious if anyone uses Knight's Valor in Epic Shores of Tuern.
I have done about a dozen now, and I get to the boss on one and someone ask, "Using Knight's Valor?" My first thought was waaaah? I told him I already had enough issues staying alive on these mobs can't do it.
Curious if anyone does though on that skirmish as almost every build people are posting now slots KV as a main in PvE, but modern PvE like Epic Shores of Tuern can burst so hard that you seem to be putting a lot of faith in strangers.
Yes i use it all the time. people fall like flies if i don't lol. My setup for epic shores is KV, ITF and Iron warrior. Iron warrior basically means perma shield so i can buff the party and stay alive very well. But that second you lower your guard to use a power can be deadly, i have 45% dr and i got hit 88k today haha.
Iron warrior is key to this though i think, it gives you great survivability and threat generation so aggro is all on you.
I kind of was thinking about your skills after I posted. Essentially you drop an Enforce Threat in favor of a KV. Enforce threat forces you to move into red or really sticky positions to protect people which is how I had been running at the moment. Dropping Enforce Threat for KV means you have some flexibility on how you position but still have some group protection presence. I can see it.

ET is good sure but IW can gain you a lot of aggro too if mixed with other skills and its enough to gain the bosses attention permanently.
I use ITF, IW and KV, then im like a buff node lol i can just stand there hitting boss with aggravation strike and his attention is on me 100% of the time, while my guard is permanently up and my team only take half dmg and get a huge dps buff from ITF. It works great.

maybe take valor only at last boss fights. its fair compromise
In my head I expected it to be high variance, but in reality it lowers the variance of burst on you when you toss out enforce threat to fit in KV. Instead of just taunting everything onto you and dealing with nasty combos hitting you all at once, you let the agro spread out a little more at first and it works pretty smoothly. It was surprisingly easy to deal with KV and the group definitely died less.
Mmm I would use it if the party was taking enough unavoidable damage...and when I say unnavoidable damage I don't mean them running into enemies then complaining they are dying cos I dont have it on ^ More that there are enemies I am unable to keep attacking me too much or there is too much red attacks for people to avoid.
If there isn't a DC, I run KV to keep the group alive. Usually the rest of the group enters full DPS mode and I can hide behind my shield long enough for the enemies to die. It is rough sometimes if the group loves standing in red, but overall it's made the run a lot smother.
I pop iron warrior then mark the monsters with tab. Enhanced mark gives +75% threat when you hit them and iron warrior gives you 300% more threat, and you also get threat from KV so you can really lock them down.
KV also gives you +20% DR and I also have the draconic set which gives another 5% DR. I also have a legendary GF artifact when I expect to get hit pretty hard.

Sorry if Im wrong on this but since when does Knight's Valour give you an extra 20% DR? I'm fairly sure that it doesnt give you any extra DR unless u spec into protection for it and then that is 5% more.
Good idea to use Iron Warrior tho combined with Enhanced Mark...somethin I am tempted to try now when I struggle to keep threat sometimes like on the Dragon HEs. Tho I think enhanced mark actually gives +75% threat per rank (so max 225%?), which is even better
But yeh I think based on the majority of players attitude in skirmishes where it's generally chaotic with ppl rushing in without a thought then Knight's Valour would be needed more often than not...
The one problem with pugs is that i have had games where all 4 players run in red circles and I have taken about 200k dmg with knights valor lol! But yeah i do think it is needed in this skirmish since the enemies dmg is very high they will 1 hit most squishy classes. I was hit 88k from 1 shot of an ad and i have 45% dr and once hit 20k through block too so i don't want to know what the squishier classes like warlock can get hit for :P
