ToD: Icespire Dragon melee attacks hits you at range

Today something very strange happened.

I was playing my SW, and was pretty much keeping myself at max. range of the Icespire Peak Dragon.

But each time it made a melee attack, it actually did damage to me, even though I was pretty far away from the Dragon.

This isn't a bug. Ice visibly shoots out when he does his melee attack, and he will in fact do it at range to try to hit you even if you're the only target.
