This is the catch. The description says the speed buff is lost when you take damage. What about you get hit but take no damage, say, your shield or barkshield absorbs all the damage, or you are under the effect of a skill such as impossible to catch?
If I read it correctly, you can still get a clean getaway with 50% speed buff if you don't take damage even if you get hit. That 3 sec speed spike can take you out of the range of your enemy's attack.

Yeah, that can be confusing, especially to new players. I would suggest that there needs to be a new category on AH called "Reusable".
Should of been a party buff that stacked even if the #s were reduced. When I think of battle horn, I think reinforcements moving there swiftly and ready to fight.
Well, it won't save you, but the CD will keep reducing as you take a beating, so may come back on-line in time to save you at some point - for a few seconds. If you get killed over and over, might be only 2 minutes before you can use it again.
But I agree with rollingonit that it should provide a party buff.
As I recall, since way back, most things in AD&D like Horn of Battle, Drums of Panic, Lute of Harmony etc either summon a companion-like creature to fight for you, provide an enemy debuff in a radius or a party buff in a radius. This thing only affects the owner, and does not seem to be particularly powerful.

If you can't use from inventory you can't even write a keycommand for it and no way I take coin/pet for it.

How to bind an item in your inventory to a certain key:
/bind F1 inventoryexec 1 inventory 0
Where the number at the end indicates what slot in your bags the item is stored. Top left being 0 and counting +1 left to right.
Thus:

The CD reduces every time you take damage, so it can be used more often in real emergencies where you are getting pulverised.
Don't see how it'll save you, lose that 2000 temp in one blow, then the movement speed with any hit.
