So, I've managed to collect a full set of Draconic armor, and am wondering slightly if I should swap out my corrupted Black Ice for it..
Looking at the stats, it seems like taking a hit if you do the swap:
Changes from Corrupted BI to Draconic: Hit Points: -345
Power: +147 Armor Pen: -609
Defense: +679
Deflect: +508 Crit: -732 Life Steal: -314
Recovery: -80
I know all my other gear and such also matters, but I'm just looking at this from the 4 set alone. I'm Swordmaster Destroyer, but considering swapping to IV Sentinel so the added defense/deflect might become handy there.
If you are looking for pve, you really probably want AoW not black ice and not draconic.
You lose base stats but gain onslaught which you can keep up with a good rotation.
+13 AC
+1271 Power
+1271 Critical Strike
+574 Recovery
+1188 Defense
+574 Deflection
Set 2: Equip:+ 450 Critical Strike
Set 4: Your Encounter powers grant Onslaught. When Onslaught reaches 3 stacks you gain 1350 Recovery and Power. Onslaught lasts for 10 seconds and is refreshed each time you strike a foe with an Encounter power.
For PvE most classes if not all are going to be better off using T2 or even T1 armor than any T2.5 or T3 Black Ice. The set bonuses are so much better on the T2's that it's no contest.
Then farm it back dude, there is no substitute for AoW in PvE. It's a difference of 4 million damage for me in paingiver.

Well, you already know that both sets are really lame and that AoW is the only good option. Now, regarding to your question, you don't really need tons of defense/deflection for tanking as GWF, all you need is a good amount of life steal + enough damage and the corrupted set is better for that than the Draconic. It is not optimal but it's nice that you want to be different.

Best for PvE is avatar of war.
and also the featured satirical comedic adventure "A Call for Heroes".
I also like my overload slots...

Could you post a pic of you wearing the full set? I've not seen it so far.
