Crafting supplies

I've only just begun playing the game, so I might be missing something - but how come if I use Gateway, I can buy crafting supplies directly at any time, but in game I can only do it by going to a vendor?

    I don't understand what ellodrith is trying to say.

    Its only like that on the gateway so that, in case you're away from a computer that can log in, then you can still do the profession task you want to do. Simply missing a common resource that you can buy won't hinder you. But in game you do have to go to the vendor.

    That's the way I look at it. Only added to gateway for convenience sake, nothing more.

    As I don't have a mount yet, it's a pain having to go and find the vendor for supplies - so it just seems too easy to log in via the gateway to do it. I thought maybe there was a way to do it in game as well.

    All right, I'll just keep my laptop logged into gateway while I'm in game on the PC :)
