Do the developers care about correcting bugs?

I just found from another post that Devs are alredy planning stuff for MoD 6, I quote: "We plan to keep adding more gear, more dungeons, more classes, more races, and more adventures. We are planning on something big for Module 6" (Source).

My questions is: And do the developers care about correcting bugs?, it seems they care about a lot of things, but this isn't on their priorities, I mean really, each module you see that there are more and more and more and more Bugs, and the amount of Bugs appearing >>>> Bugs being fixed.

In this MoD, my class (GF) had some good changes (I can't deny it), but at the same time more and more bugs are appearing with the changes that they do, for example, KV being deactivated randomly, some CC powers going trough shield, Griffon's Wrath using 2 charges instead of 1 sometimes, etc... those new bugs are being added to the old collection of bugs, like, for example, Fey Thistle activating the Combat Stance randomly, Illusion Shimmer not giving the +3% Deflection Severity, etc... (I'm just naming the ones that I remember in this exact moment but there are a lot, seriously, if you are new you'll get used to find bugs), one guy (eldarth) even listed a huge list of bugs on Foundry. This is bad, CRYPTIC shouldn't been releasing more content until they fix these bugs... exploiters should be banned always, but CRYPTIC, you are the one that is releasing exploitable and unbalanced content with a huge amount of bugs, stop doing that.

Its really annoying me with all these gf bugs not being fixed.

    CC going through block

Griffons wrath losing 2 charges instead of one

Griffons wrath using up a charge if canceled

anvil of doom going on cooldown but not even registering a hit

Guard lowering randomly, its rare but still annoying

feats like steel grace not working

Stamina bonus and regen from gear not working

Not being immune to all dmg while using steel defense

Crescendo not working if target becomes out of range..makes no sense since its meant to be an instant freeze lock

    Knights challenge turning off randomly

    Knights valor turning off randomly

    Guard sometimes not activating

These are just the ones I can remember. Playing a gf is so frustrating atm with all these bugs affecting gameplay and yet the first patch is to nerf one of our skills ?????? I don't mind that it as nerfed but at least fix things first -.-

Judging by what has happened to me recently and all their promises about m6 while m5 is not even announced yet.

Nope, they don't. Bugs is just a part of normal gaming in Neverwinter it seems. Sometimes somebody in a conversation points at the bug and I get confused "Is it really? Oh" - . -

The only annoying bug I run into randomly is that I try to use a health potion and it starts the CD for them and subtracts one from my total potions left, but I gain no health. I've actually died from that once before.

    Of course they care.

We're just ignorant of what's actually going on behind the scenes. If it's anything like where I work, the motto is to do more with less.

This is probably Cryptic's motto as well, they're contracted to keep running this game by PWE, the bare minimum is undoubtedly the top priority. Games like this are expensive enough to maintain just for the server space, bandwidth and support/tech staff. Sub games have to worry about this sort of thing less because the game's profit margin doesn't rely on sales, promotions or population to do well.

Block (shift key) is kinda useless now compared with the same Block from a year ago, i/m sure about this.
How about that defense bonus from the angel pet ,still less than it should be ?
I don't use knight valor, first time when i used it , i died ,enhanced threat is better. I have a GF, how do i play ? God knows lol..Can't wait to finish dragon campaign and take a long break from game again. I think they take care of Star Trek Online better than this game...even if it/s same game engine but in STO ive heard that even some Hollywood VIPs are playing it sometimes (not just used in dialogs) so they don't want to break Star Trek franchise name.

I finally got my rogue to level 60 only for mod 4 to bug/nerf it into what? no one can say for sure what the rogue does now.

I didn't know TR had suffered any nerfs with module four , I know the class is being worked on for module five along with DC though.

And @OP of course they care , the developers who work on new content are not the same people that work on QA and bugs.

If they cared they would have fixed the inferno nightmare situation when it was reported, they wouldn't introduce the dragon coin mess let alone neglect the situation for weeks, they wouldn't ignore DD chests being broken for so long, they wouldn't have waited until weeks after live to fix the entry requirements for kessels retreat despite being informed way in advantage, they wouldn't still to this day allow you to be permanently stuck in CN if 2 people open the same door, soulforged wouldn't have been broken since day 1, drakes wouldn't be untargetable at times if you're late etc etc.

They are not "contracted by PWE" to keep this game running. They ARE a wholly-owned subsidiary of PWE, as of sometime circa April 2011 or thereabouts.

Nonetheless, one must understand that bugs are not squashed in the order reported. Also, some seemingly minor bugs may get attention before major ones because the team responsible for that particular section of the game fixed its problem before the team responsible for the "bigger" one.

Developers of any stripe will not shut down or stop new content development to squash any and all bugs. There's no such thing as a "bug-free" game, unfortunately. Also, in this day and age (and pick ANY developer), it's usually "release first, patch later".

That being said, I'm going to have to close this down as non-constructive. We don't know what's actually being prioritized behind the scenes or the deadlines and schedules the QA team has to work with, so the discussion is academic at best.
