Going with a Damnation build, but stuck in a tight spot with only room left for either giving the puppet a 25% chance to apply this, or gain life steal on crits.
Is it actually worth it?

No, it's not worth it, i don't know if it's bugged or not, but the lesser curse is ~0.1% of your damage during a dungeon run. You can check it's supposed damage in your powers tab, if you hover over the lesser curse icon, but the actual damage it does is ~30% of that / tick. Highest tick i've seen hit for ~600.
You're better off getting Critical Promise from the Fury path, that at least deals some dmg.

Depends on your build. I have it, and I love it. There are feats that really, really make lesser curses shine when used in combination: I'm probably one of the few SW that run infernal spheres instead of dreadthreft (don't like the targeting on it); infernal spheres has a pretty good chance to put a lesser curse on a baddie (not sure of probability), you combine that with your Soul Puppet slapping down a lesser curse and add in your 3 Warlock curses and you have the vast majority of your mobs in a typical encounter cursed. While the curses themselves may not do a lot of damage, some of the feats associated with curses do a ton of damage. Scornful curse+ Relentless Curse + Burning Puppets + Daughters Promise= Massive AoE damage. There are times where I am one shotting large groups with Killing Flames because of the synergy/chain reaction from those feats due to lesser curses. The other upshot is that thanks to Syphoning Curse and Life Steal, I actually constantly heal myself to full by going into battle with a large amount of mobs. If there is anything left over, infernal spheres has a really short recharge so it can apply more lesser curses and start the cycle all over again.
This is a good idea. I think I am going to try this with my WL. Sounds like it will help make it a little more strategic to fight too which helps to keep it from getting too boring.

I have a similar build in the works, except I'm planning to stay (mostly) off of the puppet tree and get some Temptation for added tankiness and group utility. Spheres + Scornful + Relentless + Syphoning + Curse Bite = massive AoE on short cooldowns. May be a good option to work in Daugher's Promises, though I can't afford to drop anything if I want a capstone. I feel I need the tankiness, since Spheres work best when you rush headlong into a group of baddies -- seems like the best way to get them to target different mobs.
edit: On a related note, right now almost everything that's supposed to proc off Warlock's Curse procs off of any curse. I suppose once they fix this, the build will be gimped considerably.
