I use profound mainly because the black ice gear doesnt have crit strike on it, and as a combat tr that plain sucks. when i use my black ice gear in domination there is a huge drop off imho,, what do you all think
I mainly use Black Ice for its overload slots, and Profound for its set bonus. Not much a question of stats here, just put 4x greater critical armor reinforcement kits on them.
For a casual TR, the profound set is better. It gives you stats that you can work with (Power, Critical Strike, AP, bonus stealth)
For the High-End TR, Black Ice is probably better. By High-End I mean guys who have so much AP and Critical strike from their non-armor items (Boons/Artifacts/Enchantments/Companions etc) that increasing them further doesn't add as much. In that case it does make sense to go Black Ice.

As Rust said. Once you will get specific overloads you will not want to retire the set. For combat TR CBI is bis. Get more crit from kits/companion. You can offset the lack of crit also with artifact and passive skills.
Black Ice is terrible. Maybe it won't be when the TR gets buffed and won't have to rely on Stealth *that* much anymore.
For now go Profound 100%.
I value your contribution to the TR community, but you are advocating only one sided medal.
Profound is bis ONLY for perma whisperknife/mi. Other than that it's much weaker to black ice due to lack of Overload slots (this advantage is so huge you would not believe).
Using specific build is very subjective. You play WK perma while someone can play successfully a semiperma AP build, or reflect TR. For the two later Black Ice is BIS due to the advantage in damage and/or survivability generated by overload slots.
Black ice gear is indeed powerful equipment when enhanced. Getting the individual pieces takes a bit of daily grinding. The bad thing is that there is so much time (and sometimes cost) involved to get the equipment upgraded and to fill the overload slots. Most casual players won't have the time to go this route.

Oh yeah, casuals, no definitely. I would know. And I should say the biggest downside in having full Black Ice set is not the grind, but the upkeep. If you carelessly PvE with these, specially the overloads, you're gonna run out of battery sooner rather than later.

It takes either a purple mining pick or green boosts (purple pick is much more effective on the longer run). One 20 minute visit in PVP zone gives you about 5k black ice. But yea, you have to invest in it about 500k AD.
Other than that you will probably need Dragon glyphs or will go for cheaper Black Ice solution (altrough my thought is that currently Glyphs are BIS for an average player, and no - im not speaking about blue ones).'
The lifesteal ones are OP indeed. Haven't had a chance to lay my hands on them yet, but i am eagerly awaiting that moment.
BTW i am running both sets - Corrupted and Purified for different PVP occasions (i do have a non black ice pve set for dailies, due to the quick glyph being only 2h item).
Swapping only the Gloves and Mask with two pieces Profound set makes my dailies go faster. Gets me +463 crit and doesn't waste away my overloads. Oh, and I'm using Greater Blue Dragon Glyphs post-nerf. It's still decent. Even it now has a 1 sec ICD the reflect is still good. It just really makes sense with my playstyle.

In the end went with more flexible rounded AP build. I love the synergy between Impact shot, Invisible Infiltratior, bloodbath and Shadow strike. This eliminates the need of TC. Swaping CBI and PBI as needed.

I bet not a lot of people have caught wind of these yet...

They're OP, I know I know~ it's gotta get nerfed a little notch. But still, Black Ice gear is a wonder in its potential.

but its better for any class then for tr
coz tr lack most basic stat and that is stealth
