Weapon masters Strike vs Tide of Iron

Which one is better? WMS lowers resistance to at wills but I'm getting the feat which lowers resistance to encounters by 10%as well. But I see a lot of high level sword masters using tide of iron.

Also is Crescendo still un dodge able? Or is that a bug that was fixed? Thanks.

    WMS is horrible, it does the same damage as cleave, and only increases damage on your at wills! Tide increases damage on all powers!

    Cresendo so far as I know can be dodged if you use it while they are in dodge motion.

    Well this is a point of view .
    If you are party based then i say its awesome and it deal a lot of dmg why becuse the target cap is not 3 mobs and the range is huge and also debuff a large nuber of adds.
    How to use it hurt my fingers but the correct tactic is this WM ,block ,agra - WM, block ,agra.
    If you want to be really usefull you must do somthing for it .

    Tide is cool for bosses and help you to regain your block .

    Crescendo is cool becuse your real enemy is ranged class (mosty CW with owercontroll ) y cannot block half of cw skills and encounters so grap closer stun +prone cc +tru immunity not just a fake like shild.
    Also its good for escaping hard CC-s aganst bosses or block ignoring stuff in pve ofc but VM is much more better to fill this role .

    It depends on what your fighting.

    WMS is great in PvE against lots of weaker enemies. It has a wider arc than cleave so will hit more guys.
    Tide of Iron is better against single targets. It debufs the tough mob so that your party can do more damage. It also gives stamina so you can block which is a pretty big deal.

    WMS all the way : large AoE, apply my greater plaguefire twice, debuff is noticeable, and damage is not too weak.

    WMS is good for PVE in a pile of mobs you will debuff them all, but for PVP I find Theatring Rush more reliable than WMS... As of Tide of Iron, I m not touching it... with Theatring or WMS + Clave or CS, it s just not that appealing to me...

    Crushing + Tide -> PvP
    WMS + Tide -> PvE

    Is the way to go :)

    It really depends on the situation and what you are trying to achieve and what tree you chose.

    If you are a Conqueror with Cleave-boost, you probably want to run Cleave + Tide/WMS primarily.

    Tide is ideal for dungeons and party content, WMS more for dailies and solo content. Both provide a 20% debuff on the enemy, with the difference that Tide applies it for teammates as well, while WMS only applies to your own At-Wills. So if you are doing say Heroic Encounters, you want to be using WMS so you boost your own score without improving other competitor's damage, while in a dungeon, you use mainly Tide of Iron because you want to benefit your entire group.

    In PvP, Tide usually is of more benefit than WMS, because again it is group content. Though you could certainly argue that if you are trying to farm kills, you might run WMS instead just to give you an edge over your teammates.

    I wouldn't run both WMS as well as Tide though unless you are say Protector or Tactician, because Cleave has no target limit and WMS has a limit of 5 and loses damage for every target after the first it strikes.

    This^

    WMS debuffs monster damage up to 20% if you're protector spec. Also applies plaguefire or other weapon enchants to many enemies, so it can be very useful for dungeons. Good for keeping agro between enforced threat too, especially if you have enhanced mark.
