Getting frozen in Villian's Menace

I don't know if there already is a thread for this, so I will make a new one to bring attention to the topic.
Earlier today, I was playing on my SM Tactician GF in PvP. I bring Villian's Menace to gain some cc immunity and 5 seconds of invulnerability so I can tank for my team better. At one point in the match, I used VM and started bullying the enemy cw to get him off my teammates. He used ray of frost and conduit of ice, and I was then frozen. Frozen while I was supposed to be cc immune.
At first, I thought I was just seeing things, so I deliberately chased the cw with Villian's Menace later to see if I would get frozen while my buff bar stated that Villian's Menace was active. Sure enough, I was frozen again, and the buff for Villian's Menace was clearly there.
I believe the cw was a thaum and not an oppressor. I haven't noticed this happen before, so it might be a recently-induced bug. I didn't think to take a screenshot, but I'll try to post one as soon as I can.
