When I first ran into Rhix in Neverwinter Online, I immediately thought, hey, this guy must be related to Deekin or something. He's a kobold who isn't being summarily executed by Knox's goons, so he must have insanely high Charisma (like Deekin) or he's important enough or both to get that one-eyed busybody Knox to leave him alone.

Deekin Scalesinger was a nonevil kobold bard/dragon disciple in the Neverwinter Nights series. In the NWN1 expansions, Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark, Deekin serves as a comic relief character that players really love or really hate. Seriously, the Bioware NWN1 forums were filled with people either raging about Deekin or exalting him as the best thing since sliced bread.

In NWN2, Deekin settles down in Neverwinter to run a shop that sells prestige class-specific items (prestige class = paragon path in Neverwinter Online). By this point, he is an epic level character who could probably solo the King of Shadows without breaking a sweat, but he never shows off his epic-level dragon disciple abilities in NWN2. You can recruit him to be a shopkeeper at your stronghold, and he even says that he would help defend it from attack, but he never does any fighting in the game.

Deekin is never mentioned again after the NWN2 official campaign, so his fate is left up to the player's imagination. I like to think that he settled down in Neverwinter and started a long line of kobolds who didn't dump Charisma during character creation. What do you think?

While we're discussin' lore in previous games, here's the intro movie to Neverwinter Nights 1.

That fighter dude who soloed the minotaur? That's Nasher Alagondar, Lord of Neverwinter. The minotaur that he ganked? You later meet him in Hell. Literally. Spoiler: At one point, you die and literally go to Cania, the 8th Circle of Hell.

Don't know about that but I noticed there was a street called Deekin street. Maybe it's named after him.
