Defense, HP and Deflect Balance

Just wanted to know what a good balance between the three should be.

Kaelac's Guide to Devoted Clerics i follow that to know what to do, but the recent changes have me wonder, he recommends no deflect because we have no dex bonus, and go for hp, that tested with healing word regeneration quite undoes the deflect advantage in pvp. interesting, not the damage one obvious. like life steal with instead of regeneration as boon with the draconic artifact weapon and lance of faith instead? interesting discusion
