Hope stealer 5/5 in Temptation, is the extra 600 LS at rank 60 worth 5 points with the big diminishing returns we all will be experiencing just with normal gear ??
I cant make up my mind, LS is essential to our class i know but are the 5 points better spent elsewhere ?
Yes, it's noticeable. In order to suffer "big" diminishing returns you have to get really deep into LS, and all things considered it's well worth it.It saves you points that you can devote towards other stats, for starters.

You get a ton of lifesteal I think it'd be too far into dr and too short of a buff personally.
My dilema exactly, i am so sitting on the fence with this one, what sort of %age LS (and rough stat value) would you estimate to get from T1 gear and basic other stuff.
End game gear and T2 will prob be much more LS, but a ball park idea of where i'll start off at lvl 60 will help get some idea what to do.
T2 with the Accursed Diabloist set, and ancient berserker rings of cleaving I'm at 12.5% LS, a temptation lock would have an effective 25% with the capstone feat, and I could pump that lifesteal even higher with some gear.
Thanks for that info mate, i would have thought it would be higher tho as my CW has about that in LS and as a SW i'd have expected much more, approaching 20% perhaps ??
(but ive yet to reach 60 and am still new to class so prob just a bit to expectant lol)
Keep in mind I'm using the lowest iirc lifesteal armor. Just the highest dps potential one. Also look at it this way, I have no issue keeping myself healed this way, A temptation lock gets twice the benefit from it and heals the rest of the party.
I originally had hope stealer however warlocks have so many good feat choices, I passed it up the second time I moved my feats around for Temptation.
I went with T3 determined casting for faster recovery on encounters instead of soul reaping and vengeful curse since temptation warlocks will get hit quite a bit. At 18% lifesteal, I don't have any issues keeping others up, however if I'm being ganked by mobs, I am finding it a harder time to stay alive. This is with T1 wicked mage set. Rank 5's with rank 4 utility enchants and no augment pet yet.
Still gearing up so survivability will go up as well, but I'm not finding it too difficult to stack life steal as it is. Not to mention hope stealer is tied to critical hits. I am planning on stacking crit as well but it didn't proc much before since we tend to start with no crit on the Temptation set.
