It does,as its the same control bonus that is granted by trapper's capstone and the capstone does work on grasping roots,so no need to test it.
Companions control bonus is inactive in pvp though so keep it in mind.
Thanks. I want to build a Ranger alt centered around all the Grasping Roots CC skills with Thorned Roots for damage and all the +control items/companions will be essential to this build.
However - no testing necessary is a bit optimistic and I need to be 100% sure before I bind several artifacts and companions to the character. In the past there often were issues with mechanics which "should" work.
as a trapper PVE wise , you will not realy need any control bonus, with the cooldown reduction feat you should be able to keep a group of monsters rooted with constricted arrow + Hindering strike, a bit of recovery might help a bit and the dot is nice.My dps in skirmishes (dread legion and master of the hunt) actualy went from 800k as combat HR before Mod4 to more than 1,5M as a trapper now.
Pvp wise , Thorned roots seems useless vs players , not only it rarely roots someone for at most 1 second but the dot is laughable at since it scales on weapon damage not power. But i am not experienced and only has 12.5 k gs, maybe i'm doing it wrong.
