No you can't I believe which sucks on the preview shard. However you can do it on the exchange by posting an offer for a low ad/z value cancelling it and then withdrawing it on your other character

Why would anyone want to use the AH to move AD between your own characters? You lose the AH percentage that way .... it's just silly.

Actually it makes sense but only for incredibly rich people who have all five listings filled up. The return on ZEN nowadays is around 50% so the 10% loss from the AH to move AD around isn't that much of a loss unless you have to move around more than ~10 million Ad every couple of weeks this way.

For those that can generate infinite ADs, 10% don't look as bad after all.
It's clearly a security move to complicate fraudulent activities. It sucks on preview though, I used to stockpile ADs via multicopy to test certain builds (upgrade companions, refine etc.).

But you can still transfer it via the exchange o.o

Oh, sure....but it is not effective as long as they allow you to post AD->Zen requests with one character and cancel them with another. I just don't see the point, but anyhow, I was just surprised that anyone would even consider using the AH for this purpose.

I am still trying to figure out how to post on the listings without having zen. Maybe not to you but this is very challenging for me and very frustrating. Bear with me and help me figure this out please without criticism. Thank you for any and all help!

Post an offer to buy Zen for AD (you will never instantly buy Zen anymore, so don't worry about that). Then, change to the character that you want the AD on and cancel your listing to buy Zen. Now, withdraw the AD onto the character.

Transferring AD from one character to the next is easy and does not require that you have any Zen. See the "Economy FAQ" link in my signature for Step-by-step instructions how to do it. It's a lot easier done than said. (Yes: easier DONE than SAID).
Why has it been disabled to post auctions to trade ad between characters in your account? What is the point in doing this?
It would seem not being able to bid on an item that has been posted by another character on that account... is a good thing, as it helps to stop bidding up of items and inflating prices of non-buyout transactions.
Only problem is most people who would be inclined to "bid up" items, more than likely have multiple accounts anyway... but this slows everyone from having the potential to do it on every auction item listed.
I noticed this "blocking" of auctions on the same account sometime after Mod 3 [ been a couple months since I first saw it ]... although trades within one account could have been enabled again at some time after that by one of the patches and now is disabled again...
but if it was the ZAX... it would be prelude to war.
Although don't be surprised to see the ZAX loophole closed either as in combating 3rd party sites making ZAX cancellations only retrievable by the character who posted the listing, combined with the disabled same account auction buying would probably put a hurting on AD spammers as they wouldn't be able to move large amounts of AD so "FREE"ly and maybe even help identify accounts belonging to them for banning
... but then again that would require a serious effort, which I don't see happening as simple efforts are not applied often.
... then again maybe they found another exploit involving self-trades, in which they're not going tell us that, in which all I said is probably moot.
Been looking forward to upgrading my Perfect Sarcasm font, but due to recent changes it seems I will need to grind the Nine Hells for my Pure Sarcasm font... ironic isn't it?

The only way it makes any sense is if losing the 10% isn't that big of a deal because of the means at which you came by large amounts of AD...

The exchange has never been enabled on Preview (I've never been able to use it).

I hardly think they wanted the preview server protecting.
