Is this going to be a thing that happens again next year. Looking at the time it takes to do anything in this blasted profession along with the RNG involved with leveling it, it seems like I am not going to be able to get the companion. I really wanted him too...
I'm guessing they're going to make similar events based around other professions, but I don't know for sure. It'd be weird to make a sink for JUST alchemy, though. My guess is if you miss this companion it might be a while before he shows up again.

Well shazbot. He is a cool looking dude but the time sync to get him or resource sink seem to make it not worth it.
May I ask what's so desirable about this companion, other than what you said about his looks? His active bonus and abilities are lackluster in my opinion. Not worth the effort to create or buy.

It's "fun" to me. Having a halfling leader type that tosses potions to me and at enemies just seems cool. For my rogue I want to set up a "team" that is themed like mercenaries that are morally grey that are going around with her doing jobs and the alchemist seems more along those lines for a leader than a priest or shaman would be.
Kinda like with my Ranger I want to set up a team of 4 animals that fit the same roles too. Tank, Skilled, DPS, and Leader. But I haven't figured out what. If I ever do a wizard I was thinking of a necromancer theme, doing undead minions but I haven't looked closely at what is available. I don't RP my stuff but every time I make a character in a game I kinda get a story in my head going of what the character is like and how he or she will interact with stuff and invests me deeper into it. Just looking at number stats is boring, WHAT they do though makes things far more interesting to me.
