[suggestive] Epic PVP Dom queue

I think my toon is sitting at a good place. GF | Full Profound | R7's | Epic Blood Raven, Vanguard Banner and Kessel's Sphere's. GS=15.4k. I do decent in PVP and since Mod 4 was on page 49 in the leaderboards (BladeRunner). I can bunker nodes, usually top in assists, but rarely get top of the match leaderboard. But it's a team game, so all I care about is the win.

Now, when someone rolls in with their Black Ice and 17-18k GS, that one person can change the entire dynamic of a match. I have seen one toon just eradicate teams while wearing this gear. I am sure if they have that set they also have very high enchants.

So, my proposal is this: Epic PVP Domination queues. Why is it that you cannot queue for Castle Never with an 8k GS, but you can for Domination? Here is how it would work:

Epic Domination:
  • GS requirement: 16k
  • rewards: Refinement Stones
  • achievements: Titles

Let's face it, when someone has 16k and up on their GS, they probably don't care about Glory or the Green and Blue items which you receive in Domination. However, it would entice the whales and hardcore PVP guilds to compete in this bracket because I am sure everyone needs Refining Stones for artifacts, etc.

In fact, I petition that once you reach 16k GS you are not allowed to even queue for basic Domination.

Pro's:
  • eliminates the uber geared from face rolling lower GS Pugs
  • promotes competition for the new list of Epic Achievements
Con's
  • Would create twinks for regular Domination using enchants that do not effect GS

In my opinion the pro's outweigh the cons. Thoughts? Agree or disagree?

    A few things:

    - game works by building frustration in its players (such as it happened to you now). A full rank 10 dude waltzes in, destroys you, and you get frustrated, as you stood no chance with rank 7s. Now the game designers will hope that you will purchase Zen, and upgrade your character to Rank 10s so you can perform the same way as that killer dude. So this frustration is intended - sadly.
    - if you give Refinement Stones as reward they have to be worth our time. If they are not, few will bother. PvPing against other good, geared players takes time and effort.
    - so, if you give good rewards for "epic" PvP, you will make the elite PvPers even richer. If you make the stones BoP, few will care, as they refined everything to max already. If you make the stones BoA, it will be better, but not everybody has alts. If you make the stones BoE, they will flood the AH, and you will have cheap, affordable refine points. Cryptic will not allow it.
    - if you don't give good rewards for "epic" PvP, nobody will bother :)

    That's about it.

lol the "hardcore PVP guilds" wouldn't compete in this queue, all they really want to do is exploit glitches and stomp pugs.

why do you think they ALL joined the same faction in GG and in IWD? they don't really want to fight each other, they want to crush n00bs.

You only would create a farming area for elite rich players.

They would make real matches for a week, then the ground is settled and borders are drawn.
Starting best possible farming mode for the promised reward ... sell on AH (if account bound make enchantments and sell them)

    Not smart.

You don't think they really earned the PvP campaings for real? Do you?
It's meet there, and lets go get some kills below 50% etc. etc.

The only thing I am frustrated with is CW's. Other than that, it's enjoyable.

I run into uber geared players maybe once a day. Prior to finishing my set I was playing 20+ Dom matches, all Pugs, all day. The encounter rate is very low, not a game killer, but not fun nonetheless. And might I mention, these BI geared toons have been on my team as well as the other, it isn't fun for either side.

I'm sorry, unless these players are just financially well off, I doubt they are rolling Dom in all legendary arti's, belts and weapons, so Refining Stones are a viable form of compensation. And yes they are BoP, period.

If none of this entices players, then they have truly "beaten" NV and need to move on.

At this point, the only other option would be to completely rework Dom and make it like another MMO where everyone has the same gear, no GS, and it's an even playing field. This will never happen because it auto eliminates the need to spend money on gear enhancing items which give players an edge in Domination.
