Greetings,
At launch I played a TR, and loved it. Our DPS was high above the other classes, which I felt justified being a class whose ONLY contribution was damage... I haven't played since before gauntylgrym even! I'm on a new account and am starting from scratch.
My intent is to be the best DPSer I can...it's what I enjoy and take seriously. I have the damage meter up the entire time.
I love rogues and always play them. However, I do like the warlock as well.
I've gathered that rogues are not nearly in the same class as they were before, and can now be treated as second class citizens.
Can you guys give me a general impression of what things are like for a SW right now, both in gearing up and at endgame? How is the DPS compared to other classes. Are they valued in groups?
Do I
1. Roll a TR and hope for buffs to the executioner rogue
2. Play a SW, which I also really like the flavor of

SW dps is really high, as a temptation lock(the support/healing spec) i'm keeping up and sometimes beating other classes with much higher gearscore than me(like my 9k vs their 15k) unless they are a Control Wizard who are the almighty overlords of everything by the looks of things.
All the content is just endless swarms of mobs the most common thing i'm seeing in the /lfg channel is: "LFM CW/GWF/DC "abazillionmoreGSthanyouacuallyneed"+,PST"
I'm not experienced at all in the game, so maby it's diffirent at higher levels of play, but from my perspective, if what you love is beeing #1 on the damage meter i'd roll a control class.
You pretty much nailed it. Bad players needing higher gear score than necessary to handle the content because, well, they are bad players. And yea, I have been keeping pace sometimes better than people in much better gear than me, but I also attribute that to too many nubs relying on their crutches.
For PVE and between only these two choices, SW since you have single and aoe options. Not so much as TR, they specialize in single target. The game revolves around gobs and gobs of mobs in end game dungeons and scenarios.

They said that they are working on changes with the rogue in mod 5. Also I having a strong feeling that the warlock will likely face the nerf hammer big time (unless you believe that its not overpowered and that all the 9k warlocks are just better skilled and its normal to win paingiver even against 18k gs). Heres hoping that in mod 5 they no longer are 2nd class citizens.

If they do Nerf the warlock they will probably hit killing flames but tbh we got a few ninja nerfs last pach and one of are capstone feats got broken and is doing something it shouldent be doing
