PPl was crying about accursed set dps, cause it was only 2~3x better than the warlock itself, so the idea was to boost Warlock dps by hinself and lower the set dps, not to nerf both.
There is no detailed explanation given by the OP about timing. Did this happen AFTER release or is this simply a comparison between the preview version and the Mod 4 version of the SW? Did it happen overnight last night?
Without that information, this thread lacks substance.

Sorry SW's. You arent a CW so expect this type of thing to happen. I would just get used to it now. You can give feedback but it most likely will not be listened too, although it probably will be read.
Ah ok. That makes perfect sense then. It is common for things to be modified just prior to be released. The last update/patch on preview will usually not be exactly the same once a major game update goes live. Some of the changes you saw to the SW were probably being discussed amongst developers during the final days on preview.
The SW seems ok to me - not too OP and not too weak.

You can't call changes before the class goes live "nerfs" -- they are adjustments to get the class to the right place.
And pages of tests showing Accursed Diabolist armor procs making up half of the SW damage made it clear that the set was an outlier and needed to be fixed.

That's not something I would call hard to understand. That's just me though, obviously it is for some people.

There is no nerf I am seeing. I tested a SW on preview to 60 and had the AD set and the Nether set for testing. Yes during our time on preview the set effect was cut in half. Nothing has changed since then to the set.

There are no notes, because there was no patch. I guess they nerfed it with...magic!
