Game constantly crashing to desktop

For some reason my game keeps crashing to desktop. Sometimes i can play for a while and nothing, then other times it just randomly crashes.

Right now it has crashed 5 or so times, at pretty much the same time period each time. All while just being stood in PE, refining and stuff.

I have no idea whats causing it or how to fix it. Can someone please give me some ideas?

I have turned off 'on demand' patching after someone told me that might help. No joy. My PC specs are:

I7 2600k OC to 4.4ghz
AMD HD6990 4GB GPU
8GB RAM
Windows 7

I also play the game through steam, though at one time i did just have the game client and stuff installed on my PC seperately.

Its nothing to do with the internet connection, thats fine and never have any issues with any other games while using it.

Any help would be most appreciated, thankyou.

    Unfortunately I can not help you ... I can only say I have a similar problem: Crashing to desktop, but constantly, i.e. impossible to enter the game anymore. It crashes right after I see 'loading Caer Koenig' or 'loading Blacklake District'.

    I really would like to know whats going on and whats causing that crash. Any suggestions?
    Suggestions to improve NW:
    - Dualspec
    - Better rewarding foundry and foundry pvp maps
    - Custom PvP leagues with leaderboards instead of the current 'matchmaking'.
    - Armory
    - make jumping cost stamina (to reduce hopping in pvp)

    No one else has an issue with the game crashing peridoically?

    My game is also crashing, but during teleporting only into other maps (so far, at least).

    My game always crashes when I'm in dungeons or instance. My new Scourge I can't even play because I can't finish the main quest to move to others. The game is unplayable. I've tried everything that I seen and I played without anything else on my computer. I know it can play it. I have played with no problems before. I'm hoping I get to play again I've been wanting to play this patch forever.

    Just came back to NW after a while, to check out the new module and the scourge warlock class. I've had this happening ever since I patched the game, but it happens to me in Protector's Enclave, I was able to complete the tutorial several times without any interruptions. I get the same thing happening that you're describing here - just random crashes to desktop, without a particular pattern. I never had this type of issues happening before, usually the game ran very smoothly.
