Quick question for newb cleric

Does using a Brand of the Sun after an Astral Seal slowly "leak" hp into your bar from the DoT, or does it just tick once (or not at all)?

Just curious about the mechanics... Im still low level right now. Thanks!

    it ticks drains per the tick caused by brand of the sun for each enemy.. eg. 3 Astral Seal on differing enemies + 3 brand of the suns on those = 3 simultaneous small ticks
