Sorry I asked this question before but might have missed the answer as the forums were down.
Is the companion account-bound and if so how good is its active slot benefits?

I decided $35 was too steep of a price. If the weapons and equipment actually scaled as you leveled up like a blue version of the Mulhorand stuff, I would have bought it without question.
Otherwise the only thing I need/want out of the pack is the bag worth 1000 Zen and the companion and unfortunately 2500 Zen for a blue level companion seems a bit steep (if it would have allowed for a full level 30 upgrade without any additional cost, I might have considered it).
That being the case, I figure I would get much more benefit out of just buying a Great Bag of Holding, 2 Expanded bank slot packs and maybe use that remaining 1300 zen toward a purple mount.
That is unless someone can convince me that the companion is actually worth 2500 zen.
you said 10% additional crit severity is bad for you ???. to compare purple dancing blade gave you 5% and it scales probably with this companion so you got 15% crit severity. It looks like small vorpal and bost dps like hell. Upgrade to purple when you run 4-5 cn is one day of farm

The character is an account-wide unlock, claimable on each of your characters. Her active bonus is +5% crit severity, which is rather nice. She has a lunge sword slash attack and an AoE buff that grants allies in range temporary HP, (good for triggering that one GF feat).
Oh... and she talk alot; "No wound should go unavenged!!!"

But I have seen a Level 7 Erinyes in-game when inspecting another character's companion, and they were Purple and the character was not a Warlock.
So it should be a level 1 Epic Companion available to ALL characters on your account. It will rise in level but get no better in it's active bonus. But Rune and Gear slots will unlock automatically and it's own stats will increase without spending AD, but the +5% Crit Severity is as high as it will be.
It would be nice if the Bag was account-wide, as it does say "Account-wide Unlock". So everything should be account-wide.

No.
I have the pack
It's a blue pet, that you can upgrade to purple but it has to be level 25 to upgrade it. It goes to 10% crit severity at that point. I've done it. I've upgraded it.

OK, that's good then. But I am pretty sure the one I inspected was purple and level 7. Maybe a glitch, as there was a problem at first with the pack?
When did you get it? Do you think it's worth the Zen? Or the cash from Steam?
And is the bag one per account, or account-wide and one per character?
The pet has an extremely op active and is account wide. For an account wide companion it's worth it. (Note at the current time that is 16 characters and growing for me, so I get my money's worth from account wide options)

It's an account-wide blue companion with a kick-*** active bonus. She's also an extremely effective companion if you gear here a little - she'll often finish off trash while I'm concentrating on the tougher mobs. What's not to like?
The character-bound bag and nifty starter gear is just gravy.
yup here's a picture, ignore the HAMSTER gear on it, I thru whatever on just to put something there while it leveled to 30, it never gets summoned now that it is 30.
How do you get more use out of a companion? They are low dps, horrible burdens that you instantly shelve once you buy an augment. I cannot fathom why cryptic wastes art assets on stat sticks. Buying an account wide mount is the best purchase you can make, it neither insults your time nor your money.

5% crit severity is highly worth it on ever char for the $35 considering that a dancing blade is 3% and 750k zen so at 500/1 that's $15 equivalent just on one char. Think about the active bonus not using the pet.

Well even then, when I level a leadership alt, I don't get an augment for it. So I use an active companion. It'll probably be the erinyes for now on. It's fairly tanky for a companion even with the crapy gear I have on it. (See earlier screenshot), it hits decently hard for a companion, and gives both you and it temp hp on a regular basis. Combined with the active, it's a good companion for leveling, and a great active for endgame.

This. I had some high-rank Runestones left over from one of my rare Lockbox sessions, equipped them on her, and she is both immortal and deadly so far (about to finish Ebon Downs). That's with lowbie gear.

I actually use the War Dog on my Archer while doing dailies/campaigns. He's a fair tank, reduces aggro, and if I slot Aspect of the Pack he regularly prones mobs. That leaves me to DPS everything down unmolested.

The war dog is what really annoyed me. My cleric ends up tanking lair bosses because he cant take a hit. What rune stones are required in order to make companions useful, or is the catch that I must upgrade them to level 30?

10% crit severity is awesome, I'm going to hit 160% crit sev as soon as the 5th ToD boon is available, the bad thing is that being a Dragonborn I'm unable to use the helm that comes in the pack.

Upgrading them to 30 will give them more HPs, etc. Click on the 'upgrade' option when you get them to 25, and it will show you what you gain by bumping them up to epic. Each additional level 1 - 30 gives more hps. The boost in grade from blue to purple gives an overall x% boost to stats or power or whatever.
I slot my companions with the best stat purple lvl 60 stuff I can afford. I try to get an amulet / ring / belt / swordknot / etc that has a power increase, a defense increase, and a deflect increase.
You can also slot runestones that give stat bumps.
Try to save one runestone slot for an Eldritch, and you'll get a percentage of the companions stats for yourself. Win/Win.
I'm told that the effects of multiple Eldritch stones stack, so you could get quite a bit of additional stats if you put the pet in multiple Eldritch stones. Note: for ioune stone pets, the bump from a good runestone is almost certainly better than the % of 'other' stats you'd get from slotting a runestone. That is, an epic runestone can give you 185 in a raw stat, *or* 8.5% of companions stats. Companion would need some pretty good gear for 8.5% to be better than 185.
185 stat points is a rank 7. With Grand quality gear and rank 7s runestones/enchants you get more stats with an eldritch than with anything else.
Grand item = 450 points (3 each)
rank 7 rune or enchant = 185 points (5 each)
(3x450)+(5x185)=2275 points. Multiply that by .085 and you come up 193 points of stats generated by the eldritch stone, without even considering what stats the companion has naturally.

Actually, my DC uses the war dog to tank for her while solo in Icewind Dale. The War Dog seems to have no problem there and only rarely dies. It is not too unusual for a pet to die on a lair boss, but the War Dog can take a few hits. My War Dog is level 25 now, I have not upgraded it. It has a lesser bonding runestone, a r7 eldritch, and another r7 runestone. I do have him geared with some level 60 gear too. Admittedly, on my DC, the wardog gets some heals, but as a DC, my DPS isn't going to kill the enemies as fast.

I think so. I guess? You pay that much for an account wide mount. This is an account wide companion.
Personally, I think you get a bit more use out of a companion, then you get out of a mount.
The point is the active bonus, not actually summoning them.
