Unable to play: Certain characters stuck with CTD

Hello,
since the new patch mod 4 I am unable to play with many of my characters. Several bugs:
1. I am getting constantly crashes to desktop when I want to start a new character with the default graphics settings or with my previous graphics settings. In module 3 everything ran smoothly. The crash happens upon loading the starting beach. I 'fixed' this by turning all graphics settings to minimum. However:
2. I can not log in with all of my characters (currently my GWF and my HR) which are located in Icewind Dale (Caer Koenig): I received a crash to desktop at 1/4 of loading of Cear Koenig.
3. I played my warlock until level 6 until I got a random crash to desktop in blacklake district. Since then I am again not able to log in my character anymore, I always get a crash to desktop!
4. I get some weird pixel shader compilation errors when the game is loading. This is already discussed in a different thread here.
5. (Not related to the crashings): When I create a female Warlock, her eyes are always looking to the right-hand side. This is not visible at character creation, but in-game. It is very annoying!
Any way to find out the cause of the problems 1-3 and 4? Is there a way to create a meaningful crashlog or something? I can also provide info about my current system, if anyone can help.
I was about to spend a few $$$ into the game, but when I can not play it because of 2., it doesnt make sense...

- Better rewarding foundry and foundry pvp maps
- Custom PvP leagues with leaderboards instead of the current 'matchmaking'.
- Armory
- make jumping cost stamina (to reduce hopping in pvp)

Is there no way to determine the cause of the CTD bug?
