Client has always run very well under Linux through Wine. Sadly, as reported during preview testing I can confirm the live client fails to launch now as well.
Login and patching worked fine (i.e. the launcher) but game client crashes immediately upon start. Let me know if you'd like any logs or further information.
Clearly, if anyone gets it working feel free to post details here.
They have said they know about this, however it's not something that's supported and that any fix will have to come from users editing wine to make neverwinter work.
Same issue here , i tried STO which uses the same engine and it worked just fine , when running Neverwinter using a shell it displays a message about some client security release just before crashing, my only guess that it has something to do with security measures against third party software , and unhopfully Wine is most of the time considered one of them , though we know it isn't

Interesting. Do you have a link or quote for reference?
Same issue here. Running Ubuntu 12.04, NVidia GTX650ti, and PoL. Tried several different WINE versions, different video driver versions, and various NW client settings, but I inevitably get a crash to the Cryptic error handler immediately after pressing Play. I got this kind of crash on the Preview server, but hoped it would get fixed before going live. Sad face.

Well, Cryptic, I can't very well buy stuff for a game I can't play, now can I?
STO works, CO was working with intermittent random crashes - what gives?
