So I have been reading post and not of the time I don't pitch in because I don't feel like it really resolves anything. However I decided to take a show at a few problems.
1st problem the zen exchange
If you make everything bind to account in zen market this would greatly relieve the problem. By please don't make enchantments BoA. Also this should bring prices back down on the auction house a little.
2nd problem the AD sink
There is no AD sink that is effective in this game besides ah fee. Transmutation I would never do because it is way over priced. Also 10% on the AH is quite low especially when you get into professions. There is a need for an AD sink. My proposal is to allow people to pay AD to unlocked all campaigns they have currently completed on their most advanced character to other characters they haven't done it on. I would charge a premium for this since it allows the game to be alt friendly and be an ad sink. I would say somewhere near the 400k ad maybe little cheaper for the service and it would be per character. I would also increase the ah fee from 10% to 20% which would help greatly as well since it's the most effective ad sink.
3rd problem prices
Prices are so unfriendly to new players. Such a massive partway to catch up or at least be competitive in the game. I would say remove all potencies from the game and this would greatly bring prices back in line with a much more reasonable area. Also prices on the zen market are to expensive for what they are. I mean 10 dollars a coal ward and you need 15 for a perfect enchant that's a 150$ plus refining points. They would do better if prices were reduce across the boards.
4th problem BoA already
I mean seriously why can't I use artifacts on other characters those things are insanely expensive and time consuming. It so bad that it discourages people from playing other classes. Also why aren't companions account bound and not bound to 1 character?
These are just some if my thoughts. Let's hear yours
As long as Cryptic can guarantee people get their zen from AD in a reasonable time I have no objections. Not the 2 weeks we have now. People can't even respec properly now without waiting 2 weeks. Those people won't wait 2 weeks, they leave. And I can't even blame them.
This all depends on how many people are exploiting around the ZAX to get AD for ZEN. My personal opinion, and I can not prove it, but no one can disprove it either, is that enough people are doing this that it is mostly responsible for the backlog.

Zen Exchange
Another method to bring prices down would be a Free Market instead of a Controlled Market. A Controlled Market requires that ALL of the top priced Zen MUST be sold before ANY of the lower priced Zen could be sold. A Controlled market favors GREED. A Free Market matches a willing seller and a willing buyer at an agreed upon price based on First In First Out (FIFO). A Free Market is based on NEED. It works just like the AH where lower prices are shown and sold first and higher prices may die on the vine. A 2 week expiration may also be helpful.
2nd problem AD sink
If you increase the AH fee to 20% prices will go up 20% to make up for the expected loss.
3rd problem prices
As a new player in May 2013 Mount upgrades were 250k AD and 375k AD and companion upgrades were similar. There was no upgrade from common to uncommon Professional ranks. At the time I thought they were unfriendly too, but gave me an incentive to save up. I'm still saving up.
4th problem BoA Artifacts
Some are - the Class Sigils, when you get the 'A friend in High Places' Quest to go to the Rewards Counter to get FREE Sigil Artifacts your other Character have earned.

This goes against the stated goals about the ZAX. The ZAX was limited to 500:1 to protect new players from run away inflation that would make it where they could never afford zen.
free market wouldn't work, we have a semi free market with ZaX with a limit, and what happened? it's been on the limit for months. If they remove the limit the price would keep rising up until it's too expensive.
