Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the main reason poeple went combat tree for the extra 10% deflection that "Elusive Hunter" gives, as a compliment to the already tanky profound set? Well, now that that's been nerfed to 2.5%, will we see top HR's settle with the loss of that 2.5%, and instead use the newly buffed Lone Wolf (15%+ deflec) and go archery tree? With aotLW, you'll have 1: More than enough compensation for the combat tree nerf, and 2: Potentially MUCH higher dps in pvp (Contesting nodes 1on1 with "prey" will be more viable).
Not an high end PVPer myself, but I play an archer in PVP on live and I can assure you only contest nodes alone against enemies if I dont have any other choice even though I went full defensive, not a 12k glass cannon sniper. Without benefits such as wilds medicine, constricting arrow and %20 DR of aspect of lone wolf in mod 4, I believe node contesting is not something I will be doing in PVP. Any damage buff will not cut it while I run around the node for my life. So I'll probably snipe off-node and hope not to be focused by a cc+burst combo. I'm not sure whether %50 total deflect with the new lonewolf will be enough for archers to survive on nodes...

New Lone Wolf only works if surrounded by enemies at close range. This is the exact opposite of the combat conditions required for Archery.
