[Control Wizard] This is not my Wizard :(

More and more Cold feats and class mechanics are brought for us, and Arcane is being left out.

Can we be more Merlin and less Elsa please?

Amen, i chose Wizard for two reasons: No Warlock at launch, and it had an Arcane Theme. I want to be able to stick to that Arcane theme instead of Ice and the useless Fire (why do they even have this?)

+1 I agree with this. I'd like my crit/control back please. You can keep your dots.

I respect your preference, though I personally have no problem with Cold powers. But I don't understand why they separate Cold from Arcane. Shouldn't arcane spell casters' Cold powers be considered Arcane powers as well?

    Balance balance balance...

Many things do not work as they are supposed to.

There are three paths to each class. I always thought it was for a reason.. I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that it was meant for DPS/Tank(or Control- same thing in effect)/Support-Heal.

I don't know how this relates to DnD 4E, because 4E was convoluted garbage, upon which I refused to waste my time or money. My own campaigns and those of DM's all across the world were better, anyway.

But I think... Let us choose a path. DPS, is being undone.. and so is control. They are making favored powers useless just so the previously ignored powers will be used. Nothing to do with balance. When they are all done, they will nerf the powers they are sending everyone to now.

No matter what they change.. there will always be only a few optimal paths. And those will always be favored. Once the reality of how they function is determined and shared, they will be what is used. It SOMETIMES SEEMS LIKE (not an accusation, just a possible perception) they are just telling everyone how they will play and to delete and re-roll if they don't like it.

I'm beginning to wonder if going with the 2E "school of magic" concept would be better (evocation, conjuration, etc).
