Dungeon exploit suspension...

It would be really nice if a handful of GMs spent a day doing PUGs, joining LFGs and watching how many people exploit dungeons like the CN "shortcut" and start handing out account suspensions for all parties involved.

But then I guess people in hell want ice water... :p

You will see how things go around here. People have complained A LOT about it in the past especially in open beta.

I actually wish there were more shortcuts. Maybe make some class specific (like a door a TR can open or a hidden wall a GF can access a lever to that creates a bridge). The CN shortcut, if it is the one I am thinking you are talking about, requires a bit of skill to get the jumps right to get to the platforms. It is actually a fun challenge.

But I see a difference between shortcuts and exploits. For example, in Mad Dragon people could jump on top the gate to the entrance to the dragon at the end and kill him from there. That is an exploit and not a shortcut in my view and they fixed it.

If there is a exploitable shortcut in CN then take screenshots and put in a bug report detailing how it is done and they will probably get around to fixing it at some point .

He means skipping the shadowfell which they partially attempted to fix but not properly. Not sure why he thinks it's justified to suspend accounts on merely skipping a few mobs. Hardly the worst kind of exploit. People used to skip the whole of cn, more commonly they used to skip all of the mobs before the first boss and start from there, they skipped all of the mobs in fc and dk. They killed the last mc and vt bossed from under the map without being harmed. There were even determined classes fighting draco ontop of the gate taking a long time to actually kill him... All without any form of punishment. Not sure what the point is over complaining about people running round a few mobs. Who cares really? If they don't want people doing it, then they should actually fix it, not blame the players after it's been allowed for so long.

You can't say oh it's fine to do this and then out of the blue change your mind and temp ban people for it when you're fully aware of it.

ah lol , I literally haven't been near CN in forever so I was wondering what the exploit was , didn't know it was nothing serious .

Unfortunately neither have I minus the odd day of being invited. Getting bored of little new content worth doing and old content getting stale ):

Cheating is cheating, and should have consequences.

People that bypass lots of adds don't just have the thrill of beating Draco sooner, but they can also get treasure faster than those that do not cheat. It is wrong (unless you pass on the treasure, in which case you are only cheating yourself).

PWE did not punish the "lucky" nightmare lockbox winners, or those that exploited the Ioun Stone of Radiance bug. That sets a bad tone for the game.

On the good-news front, I'm hearing of widespread temporary and permanent bans for accounts that buy AD from sellers. That serves as an indirect AD sink, which will also benefit the game economy.

Dungeon exploits are slowly dealt with, so do report specific ones with as much detail as you can.

This isn't going to go anywhere constructive but complaints about how PWE handles exploits. I'll just remind people of section 15.3 of Terms of Service and close down this thread.
15.3 We may take any actions and impose any penalties we deem necessary to discourage and punish any violation of these terms or any other illegal or inappropriate conduct, all without prior notice or warning. The determination as to whether a violation has occurred and who is responsible for such act is solely within our discretion, and is based on what we deem best for the community and the Service. By using the Service, you agree you will be bound by our determination as to whether a violation has occurred and any penalty we choose to implement.
