I was reading a lot on Forgotten Realms lore and am finishing Shadowrealm at the moment, so I've read up some on shades, Shadovar, etc.
I started playing a rogue and I realized that it very much feels like I am playing as a shade, as a lot of abilities feel this way, like stealth, and some of the transport abilities really feel like something a shade might be able to do.
Anybody else has this feeling?
P.S. Please note I don't play DnD, I am basing all of this from Forgotten Realms lore, not from a tabletop game, in case there is some difference between that and a shade there.

My understanding with Shadowvar is that most of them are based on a rogue template which is why you're finding them similar in lore. I could be wrong but that's what I'm remembering.
Yes abilities like deft strike or the stealth mechanic are really similar to what a shadow can do but theese alre really the only 2 things, also, a shadow would never be a rogue
