Hey everyone,
We'll be performing scheduled maintenance tomorrow 7/10 at 7 AM PDT. The estimated downtime is 2 hours, but could be extended due to unforeseen circumstances.
No patch notes this week, it'll just be a server restart and account server maintenance.
When is maintenance for you?

Hey dwightmc ,please could you do some of us forum users a favor? can you please find out where the rare ( blue version ) of this Fire archon companion in this thread http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?703331-rare-fire-archon came from please if you have 5 minutes spare? A lot of us have played the game since day one of open beta and some started even during closed beta and not one of us can remember a blue version of the Fire Archon ever being released and it is starting to drive us mad .
i know games like this always have downtown for maintenance but this is the first time i've actually wondered what is being done.
can anyone explain in general what's going on? if it's not patching of some kind i just wonder what's behind the scenes needing repairing or whatever it is that "maintenance" means.
thx
Usually the OP of maintenance threads explain what's going on with a planned maintenance and directs you to patch notes, if any.

You too can have a career in IT. Maintenance is not necessarily break fix. It could be anything from testing redundancy in case of a disaster to patching of the os/database/video drivers or what ever. How often do you update your computer at home? you have to reboot every time you do a Microsoft patch (and should reboot after any patch) and if you had the number of users that Nwo does, you would have to schedule your reboot and repost and then some level of verification to insure something in the patch did not mess anything up.
hope that helps.
Hello,
We usually have weekly maintenance either to push out a patch for the game or to just run weekly server checks. This week we had account server maintenance to ensure that users don't encounter issues with their account when attempting to log into the game. There's a lot that goes into the account server maintenance, which I won't bore you with, but it's something that needs to be done every now and then.
