Race spot

Check it out! A spot on the race selection menu got cleared out enough to insert a new race on the preview server:

the Elves have been smushed together (finally) to make way for a new race on the bottom right! and if speculation holds true, said new race is going to be Dragonborn. Get hype!

    Oh nice , if they use the 4th edition guidelines then this could be decent for people who want a CON/CHA Warlock looking at this page off the D&D wiki - http://dnd4.wikia.com/wiki/Dragonborn

    If so then maybe I just found a replacement for my Tiefling xD

    nice, and kinda make sense, you know, with this new module about dragons, it's the perfect time to introduce the dragonborn

    I doubt it will be mod 4 chances are they would have hyped it before now if it was going to be then. Mod 5 maybe.

    Not really? I mean they haven't hyped anything but the warlock class for Mod 4. We should reserve judgment on what isn't coming until we have proof it's not.

    Certainly that's a two way street, but They wouldn't have adjusted the character creation screen without reason, and the only other race files datamining has found in the game are for Dragonborn.

    Off topic, but can you please put up anything (it could be just removing the new dungeon/skrimish from the queue list) onto the preview server so that you can reactive the dungeons and PvP? You can't really test much, especially for Warlock, when you can't run group things.

    I think there is every reason to believe that Tyranny of Dragons will bring the same amount of new content as Sharandar did - a new zone, dungeon, skirmish, class, race, etc. But remember that the new race (Moon Elf) was available only via the Knight of the Feywild pack, so that will probably be the case with this new race as well. I also suspect there will be a "Scourage Warlock booster pack". :D

    They also released the Sun elf for players who didn't purchase the pack.

    True, I forgot that. However, I'm not sure there will be two races this time, but if it happens to be like that - even better!

    Looking at the Dragonborn in that Wiki.. the run/stance of the warlock makes a bit more sense. Like someone had Dragonborn on their mind when they designed it maybe. Well anyway, I can see where that run would look cool as a Dragonborn.

    Well they could drop the Githyanki on us. Their stats seems to fit reasonably with playing warlock.

    They do have a history with a certain dragon goddess after all.

    Oh wait, the Githzerai would fit better as a player option, as they already are in the pnp rules. They don't fit as well as a warlock race tho. Thing is, they are in opposition to the Githyanki...

    That seems much more likely as a group of antagonists, rather than a playable race.

    Since the new module is called Tyranny of Dragon, I guess the new race would be Dragonborn.

    Not sure if its racial power Dragon Breath will be implemented or not. I was quite surprised that sun elf and moon elf don't have their racial power Fey Step as that's Eladrin's trademark ability.

    If that were to be true o.o I'd sacrifice my CON + CHA tiefling warlock for the dragonborn one. It would only suck if I'd had to run her through preview from scratch again. :P
    By the way, I've heard long time ago that Aasimar was to be playable race, too. So after dragonborns maybe... ;)

    Aasimar in 4e got replaced by Devas, which are frankly completely different. I don't know where you heard it, but Aasimar were never a part of Neverwinter Online. Maybe you're thinking of Neverwinter Nights?

    I hope they deal with the clipping issues , as it is my Half Orc's chin and lower jaw stick out of his helmet , god knows what they are going to do with Dragonborns big long snout.

    Dragonborn would be sweet.. lets hope they also get extra healing at campfires.

    Well you never know... They got the HR done before warlock.

    I would LOVE for them to make the DragonBorn Race stats:

    +2 Con, and +2 Cha OR +2 STR.

    This makes them a plausible fighter class which they were in 4e however in this game +2 CHA doesnt really help fighters at all....

    Doing it this way, allows the player to choose either:
    +2 Con +2 Cha

    or

    +2 Con +2 STR

    This opens the race up for more choices as to playable class.... I know I would love to get rid of my halfling and rolll a dragonborn fighter... However the racials would have to also be good.

    Well, looking at Dragonborn racial stats, it'll be "+2 charisma and +2 Strength OR Constitution". If nothing else, that means combat advantage and companion stat bonuses will be higher, meaning it'll be better for PvE. Still, I would agree with Ayroux here.

    That said, I don't think that'll stop most people from rolling a Dragonborn GWF.
