This is a question on courtesy. When you are role-playing with your group and a random player arrives and joins in. Do you;
A) Continue RPing and welcome them in as long as they stick to the current story,
Ignore them and continue without even acknowledging their presence,
C) Turn to them and ask them to leave, or
D) None of the above.
Just a curious question.

Some people's characters dont immediately click with some of mine. But over all I generally am pretty receptive.
Though from what I've seen for a long time. Many of the other Rpers generally do option B.
I like to think it often boils down to option A, but it isn't always the case.
.......?
Wha?
If the group then says it's ok, they can join in. Otherwise, just move along.

That doesn't mean that my character will be friendly towards you if you interrupt him in anything. *shrug*

What are you even saying?
if they approach me in character, and seem amiable I typically try to include them if possible. If it is my blind character I do not acknowledge waves nods or other greetings my character wouldn't be able to hear. My friendly character might actually seek out people sitting alone looking at people and siping their drink. if she gets eye contact. (eye contact and a smile can be a good way to see if someone is open for rp. unless the character is blind as forentioned)
I come from a game that often had very open rp and people could often just walk up and join in. if it was private people would rp in sg bases/guild halls or out of the way. NW just doesn't have a LOT of rp space.
the mask is tiny compared to other rp taverns/clubs. and ebon downs/driftwood share a zone so it can be hard to get in same instance unless your in a rp guild that announces instance number.
quality of rp probably would be improved if they either made the mask larger, put other bars in their own instance
or added other 1 instance areas like a park, a library, a castle, or off season fairgrounds for rp.
I don't really agree with that. It's one thing if people are in an out of the way spot where it's obvious that you're not going to come across other RPers but, if someone doesn't want others intruding on their RP, they should take measures to ensure that it can't be intruded on, like taking it to team.
You at least react to somebody there if they are actively trying to RP. "Actively trying to RP" includes even emoting you are just standing there doing nothing as emotes in themselves are RP.
Kinda bums me out I see 2-5 people with the same guild name doing their own little RP excluding anyone else that even tries to contribute.
If it's just the jump around and shoot spells thing then "Dances Seductively" without RP effort then... okay I can see not reacting to it if it's completely disruptive.

yeah its unfortunately always been that way. Even for people that are in the same guilds as them. Any interaction or involvement with anyone else if done is quite limited. its only more so when they arent in their RP guild.
Besides all those ERP trolls I've encountered in MM ._.
WTB Class Reroll please
Those trolls are there most of the time. Many of us just /ignore them until they start doing something obnoxious to our actual characters, then report.

Not sure if everyone is open to this but I love introduction "quests". The new player will go over to a group (this is semi-organised before hand) and asks for their help with something, and they go on a merry adventure. Or that person places him within that adventure and they meet on the way and introductions are made. This is how I used to "officially" invite people into the guild.
