What do you think is best?

Hey all
After a long hiatus away from playing my GF (been playing my HR), I decided to jump back in with my GF. I forgot how much fun this toon actually is! Anyway, on to the point.

What do YOU think is best to enhance? MAX HP? DEFENSE? REGEN? DEFLECT? Or one of the other stats?

When I stopped playing mine, I had gone for max HP,max Defense, and max Regen. That left me with very little Power, and next to nothing for Crit and Armor Pen. I guess that's OK because I was going for a "real" TANK...ya know, being the last one standing all the time and soaking up all the damage.

Here's my stats:
HP 38,187
GS 14,109
POWER 3,114
CRIT 311
AP 370
RECOVERY 2,540
DEFENSE 5,871
DEFLECT 2,959
REGEN 1,746
LIFE STEAL 209

I had my Regen up to over 2,200, but if I do that I sacrifice some Defense,Deflect, and Recovery.

I've been thinking about reslotting/new enhancements. So, fellow GFs, what do you think is the "optimal" balance for all your stats? What do try your best to stack/max out? And finally, what's your reasoning behind it?

Thanks!

You're way over the soft cap for defense. It might be better to try and shift that to HP, especially with the amount of regen you list. There aren't any diminishing returns on that. HP bonus from CON is getting doubled for GF in Mod4, which ought to allow for some astoundingly high numbers. It's also an effective way to counter the BI damage from IWD mobs that can't be mitigated in normal gear.

Adding to your Armor Pen would be a good move offensively, more damage is more threat and will also make your life a lot easier if you go to IWD.

Thanks! I was thinking soft cap for Defense was 5k. Anyone know what the soft caps are?

I've been thinking about dropping some Defense and trying to start stacking some AP and Crit.

    Anyone else? Thanks again!

For defence most GF go for 3.5-4K in pve. You will lose only a bit in resistance.
The other advice to go for HP and Arp is good, it will help you a lot with threat.

I agree on the defence. Something you might try putting those points into is recovery. Not as quantifiable as HP. More menace, more threat, more lunges. For anything but a conq where power becomes the right answer but even then my conq has 3.5k recovery...

Some of it is archival from testing done early in the game. There are a couple of charts floating about for the return curves. Honestly when I am fine-tuning I add/ remove a peice with 150 of a stat and observe how much that actually affects the tooltip. An easy buy to add Crit and Arpen are the pyrotechnic bands. They are actually pretty cheap as most classes have set gear for ArPen and so the high dollar goes to Slavemasters. Another prefered trick if trying to add offence is a blue belt.
