Well now that you talk about buffing all the other races to keep them in-line with halflings, I'd agree to that.
I was merely arguing that it would artificially create more content (as cumbersome as they are) by forcing those hardcore PVPers to reroll their toons. I know it is a big hassle to a certain section of the playerbase.
Yeah well I was going to suggest A system could be to keep lvl 60, but you can "re-roll" and redo all the content but its all scaled to lvl 60+ (like IWD).
However they already added a post 60 EXP system.
So the only thing I think that could work is just a re-birth system IMO. Or atleast this would be the easiest to implement.
Basically youd have to unequip all your gear, youd still have artifacts and the ability to unsocket your enchants to level - but honestly not much difference in "twinking" out a toon to level.
I think a Race re-balance + ability score reroll would probably be MORE than enough to get more people to do it, but without any "reward" I dont see why people would do it if happy with their current rolls.
hence why I think SOME benefit would be cool, +1 to a stat or two wouldnt make it that OP TBH... Infact, it might even open up more race options.
I'm all for a race change and a stat re-roll, I don't see a point to leveling the character all over again, the whole point of paying hard earned cash for a service is to cut down the in game time it takes to get the service otherwise (if there is an option to do so), like getting the item you are making with professions now rather then later and so on.
I am a bit pessimistic of seen this in the game, I think that even if they charge a fair amount of money for it they will still earn more money, and or your time spent in game leveling a new character then if you pay for a re-roll.
given the opportunity to change ur initial rolls and race will be very very significant for players who ve been here since beta, investing huge amounts of ad and time into one char but have for various reasons bad rolls or bad race for what they currently like ingame...
make it cost a reasonable price and i think everyone will be happy with it ,
even if race change is hard, at least give us the option to change our initial rolls !!
is that my fault if i play my tr from one year and i just refuse to reroll it?
Nothing is left to do if not 2-3 pvp per day and im even tired to have not optimal stats cause in the creation the description was like "dex: you really are sneaky stubbing people. cha: you really good to talk to people".

Yup, the business sidevof this is a loser in the long run. Its more lucrative to change the system and have your dedicated players re level and invest in all new characters over allowing existing ones to be altered. They would lose more than they would gain.
Not even +10 to all abilities would convince me to re-grind Sharandar again (Resurrection in DDO works because there is no Sharandar there :P)... I'd rather see something more useful, like "epic" levels after 60 or whatever...

The cost needs to be high enough so that it becomes a serious decision and there needs to be a small incentive such as +1 to a non primary or secondary stat(can only happen once per character) when doing this. This method would keep your boons in place imo but you could only put points into them once level 60 again.
I have to say that this is a really good idea and I hope the devs make it happen.
And I would also like to add that this is one of those rare ideas where almost everyone is in agreement with. No flameing, no claims about making something "OP", no crying about "it destroying RPing". A truly wonderfully rare thread.

Very good idea in my opinion.
Also perhaps allow to re-birth as many times a person wants (the way you described it) but add the skill bonus only once and make it a large AD sum, perhaps few millions and you got a very good AD sink, and one new/most players don't need, want nor whine about and the veterans will gladly use.
(I would have saved up to do it, selecting abilities in open beta based on the very 'informative' tooltip, and being a half-elf (i will not change) TR can have some limitations...)

This will also apply to those who are somewhat new and are fine tuning themselves and seeing their stat rolls not being how they want them this would solve a lot of the re roll dilemma.

Idiotic, it's like something out of a typical Korean grinder.
You could even charge Zen to do this, like the quest requirement asks for 1000 Zen.
Even dumber. How about we also give the option to add +1 to an attribute for 1000Zen while we're at it?
this reminds me alot of one of my fave text mmo's where you would level to a certain level then you could remort and that was the only way to unlock certain classes and races i would love something simular in neverwinter so being 60 wasnt the end but the begining
*and if you were to charge it would be better for it to be diamonds we already have a long enough queue for buying zen as it is*
