GF Knight's Challenge Use

Could someone explain how a 1v1 boss killer Knight's Challenge build doesn't work for dungeons. It seems like half the GF skills are single target, yet the only role people put it in is collecting minion aggro and running/tanking.

Why not let CW and GWF fight the minions while you crush the boss. If things go badly, you can always switch skills for minion clearing.

Are they really so bad that even with 100% more damage it's less dps than other classes...? If so, why no suggestions to make this viable?

    1) It's not 100% damage all the time, with cooldowns, over whole duration of dungeon I doubt it will even be as high as 50% extra damage dealt at the end.
    2)It's a pain to activate.
3)Dungeons does not require single-target dps most of the time, that is also why TRs are complaining about their class being useless.
4)GF has awesome AoE skills, Frontline Surge and Enforced threat are very nice skills, Lunging strike also deals damage to targets behind the one you're hitting, so all your toolbars can be filled with skills that have AoE effect.
5)GF as a defender type should never be dealing as much damage as striker classes, so trying to make it do that won't give wonderful results.

I don't even have Knight's Challenge in my build. I dropped it when they made the activation that absurd. I'm also not using Anvil of Doom, which would probably be part of your suggested build, because it is way too situational.

on bosses its great, using it with anvil + something else (bull charge/lunging etc) makes your single target dps pretty potent. I have not parsed it, or made serious comparisons with equal geared party members however.

A GF is usually the best kiter in an unexperienced team so they are used for that role mostly. Why use more than person on adds, when they can use a GF to deal with them on their own? An example when this is not the case would be karrandax final boss, where you can just go straight up on the boss if you want. Another is dwarf king. There are more examples, ive go single target on spellplague boss before and let the gwf kite. Depends on what is best for the situation.

Fair enough. Why doesn't anyone suggest making it better then? Tie it in with the swordmaster paragon. Add more debuffs. Bam, a legit boss/pvp build for people that like the GF, but don't want to always be aggro machines.

Boss build isn't needed since all bosses in NWN are trash, or to put it better, the 99% of the time the adds are more annoying..

Yeah It's not the skill that is the problem, apart from activation, Knight's Challenge is good as it is. The problem is dungeons doesn't require such single target DPS, hence the Trickster Rouge complaints.
