A New Year, the Jubilee, and So On...

Well, it has been a great year of playing NW, though I admit I do still find a few decisions a bit confusing. I still have no idea what they meant about the account bank slots being a necessary addition due to the black ice stuff let alone why they haven't made some of the assorted currencies account locked rather than character locked now that they have done it. And I really don't get the point of the Protector's Garden; it seems to be a play off that Founder's Pack early admission into Moonstone with no real point to it.

All that aside, my want list would include (in order of want and with reasons why):

Bard - Yes, I said it. My favorite class. I love the idea of music magic, have loved the various possibilities from 2nd edition rules, and it just fits my personality better than any other class. And with me wanting to make a tribute to my dog, I wouldn't mind playing a character based on myself with a Portal Hound husky named Tamako. I think it would be cool.

More use of Professions - Not liking how Professions seem to just get to the top and stop. Alchemy should have more dye variations and maybe even use enchantments and runes for something. Armor making shouldn't just suddenly stop and the dragon eggs are so random to get that I never bothered buying any or using them since purples in the modules are easy to come by. Similar with weapons. Leadership really is the only thing I have still going in most of my characters. Woo hoo. Seems like a waste of space.

More expansion to other lands - I'm a Dales man, myself, but also wouldn't mind seeing Baldur's Gate and Waterdeep introduced in some small fashion later just as Thay was introduced with the Dread Ring. I'm sure it would get too unweildy if it went out much further than it currently is, but still...

Not so linear - As the world expands one module at a time, I liked the intro to Sharandar and Dread Ring better than Icewind just because you could get to 60 and choose which one to try first. I don't like predictability where there could be a little unpredictability. Not unlike the Jubilee skirmish, I don't want to know what comes next, I want to be surprised. Even in End Game stuff.

I greatly look forward to seeing what you guys end up doing in response to the latest book series and am hoping that perhaps you are working with TSR to give us an epic adventure directly related to it. Here's to another year and many more to come, guys. Well done.

You meant WotC, right? (An oldie but goodie like me when it comes to tabletop RPGs.)

I'm hoping for better quests in Mod4 like dynamic quests wherein a quest is triggered by a previous quest done either by you or another player. Your (or another player's) previous actions determines what possible quests becomes available next from a dynamic (persistent) NPC.

Id also love to see bard, though it would me id have to reroll my level 60 (tr now)
id love to see class change tokens even if wed have to restart at level 1
just so i can keep all my outfits/pets/caterday survivor cape and...um my face

the new face editors are going to make it very difficult to reroll characters
because they would look so different.

Id also love to see more profession.... meshing
id love to see much more in the way of cosmetic items be made by professions
d love to see armour profs be able to make fashion items

i love the level 60 areas however they were kinda supposed to be so people
who didnt want to grind in big teams could get epic gear
yet you have to grind in big teams to get the t2 gear
if i wanted to grind in big teams id just get the classic T2 gear
    i prefer sets anyhow.

Id like to see more rp areas like the mask
    areas WITHOUT npcs
for rp areas that don't get messed up by holiday vendors
like a park, or wedding chapel, or maybe just put driftwood or
mourners rest in tier own instances so that it doesnt cut people out.
    maybe make mask bigger.

rpers are a big source of real income as we like a lot of cosmetic items
and we arent big on grinding if we have the option to just buy

I like the juggling emote and the "idea" behind the throne though
I kinda wish it was a normal chair or barstool or a "sitchair" emote

It would be nice if foundry quests could have OR options in quest like
so people can have a quest option to open door/click glowy/fight monster 1 OR 2
thus making quests feel less linier. SUre you can trick it out but would be nice
    to have choices.

also Guild housing we really need them ive seen my guild TRY to hold meeting
and members get locked out especially with the lower instance limits. it doesnt have to be
perfect just a place that can hold ALL the members of a guild.

Here's what I'd like to see for a new campaign:

Imagine that you are given 3 random daily quests. Each quest has a minimum goal and a "stretch goal" in order to complete them. Based upon how you do in said quests, you are then presented with an instance, which draws on different aspects of the 3 daily quests you completed - perhaps some enemy reinforcements may be greater or diminished if you did well poorly or well in your initial quests, or maybe the enemy makeup itself will vary depending upon how you did. Additionally, take the idea of zone events and have them actually impact the environment - maybe have necromancers wander the zone, digging up graves and raising the dead to serve them - if you catch them early on, their armies will be small, and you can prevent them from trying to attack the hero base.

Truly, I want to see a zone that is more dynamic than what we have now - I'd also like to see more buffing/debuffing/healing enemies instead of bigger and bigger piles of HP that just hit harder...

    Yes, waste of space indeed!

On a private shard in UO we had "bulk order deeds" that requested for e.g. 20 GF gauntlets. Filling these deeds would reward items or currency, so in this game probably AD. There are ways to make crafting useful, alas I see none ahead in this game at the moment.

honestly the strech goal idea sounds not unlike the protector's speech quest if you kill things fast you get the bonus.
the skirmish we had last with the dragon had healing/buffing adds.
this game does have battles where they add more enemies over time if you dont kill the summoners.
the spider temple the queen will heal herself if spiders get close to her...

and most the level 60 zones do have a semi randomized list of daylies

the game does have dynamics the problem is if there are to many factors
then when players it the bosses and its "to hard" they whine and quit and the
    dynamics get to be nerfed

I really liked how the april fools skirmish had some random bits...
sometimes wed get the spiders other times wed get the gazebo
and i like how the protectors speech seems to also be a bit random as to which monsters show up
they are definitely headed in the right direction.
