To me as a new player the LFG finder is under used and needed to be re-imagined. Leveling up it works fine. But at max level it is not anywhere near as viable.
1. Adjust the GS requirements. I'm sure these dungeons CAN be completed by the listed GS. But lets be honest. The way some of these bosses work where it's just a wave of high HP adds one after another. It just doesn't match. Not within a reasonable timeframe.
2. Add in a second adjustment to this GS. This is effected by a few things. First one being if you have done the dungeon at all. Second being if you have done the dungeon recently. Lets say the 8300's are bumped to 12k. If you have done the dungeon at all(normal or elite). It takes off 1k. If you have done the epic version within the last week, it takes off another 500. So for a fresh 60 who didn't do any dungeons while leveling, it takes 12k GS. This is steep to make up for the lack of knowledge. 11k if they have done it. 10.5k if they have done it recently.
3. You may ask how one would care to enter at 10.5k if they need to enter at 11k to begin with. The idea is that you have friends or a guild queue as a group of 5. Queuing as a full group will ignore all GS requirements. But will prompt you if you are about to queue with someone under their allowed range.
4. Unlocked Dungeon Chest. Somewhat. It's not a full unlock. It is increased by certain criteria.
4a. First one is how you queued. Add in multiple options for queuing. Normal, Crafting and Greed.
Normal is how it is currently run.
Choosing Crafting will give you a +10 to all of your rolls on crafting materials and the end chest will have a crafting item in it. Quality of item is vastly increased during DD or if you have a key. Quality is also increased based on the % of bosses you participated on. But you'll probably still see a few Peridots. As the key only costs 5k AD, don't expect anything amazing every run. All non-crafting rolls will be passed on.
Choosing Greed will automatically make you greed on everything. End chest will have a 20% chance of having an item that you could get out of a full chest. Queuing as greed also allows for a full greed option. Only queuing with other greeders. But if this is done your chest % is dropped to 10%.
4b. Second one is similar to the GS system. Gaining 5% for each of #2's criteria for GS limit reduction.
4c. Last one is your GS when entering. If you vastly out gear the area, you will be given an additional 10%. A bonus for helping the lower geared.
5. Rolls. NW doesn't really enforce them. But they are there. Overall this is Tank, dps and support. Tanks are overall GF/GWF. Supports are Clerics and Nature HR. To an extent CW can fill this roll(perhaps rework some unloved skills and make them debuffers as they are being looked at for preforming to well in the CW/GWF meta).
6. Separate Skirmishes and Dungeons. I think this one clear as to why I think this needs to be done. At level 60 there's a lot of them. It's not hard to use the scroll wheel. I just don't see why it can't be separated.
I'm sure some of you will disagree with my ideas. But I'm also sure most of you agreed the LFG system needs a revamp for max level.
IF the system was to be reworked your suggestions aren't bad. But the system isn't broken.
As you say the dungeons can be entered at X GS. But where does it say that being able to enter is to have it easy? What's wrong with using your head (not you personally) and think "well, the 7k I have can get me in, but I can be sure it'll be hard if we don't work together properly." People automatically assume that if you can enter it's a breeze. Which is downright stupid. Maybe they should make the PvE content harder so people get used to having to work hard (alone or together) to win?
Maybe they can learn it that way? Face it, the PvE content is not difficult. Not even Sharandar or DR is very hard for new lvl60. A bit more challenging, but still not impossible if you use half your brain. Failing that, they just steal objectives from other players. Works just as well.
On the other hand you have the speed runners that don't take less than 15k GS for epic CT. This is what you see currently in /LFG in PE. Which is just as stupid.
First, I don't get why you have to race through the dungeons just to get AD you don't need. (And before someone starts, you do not need much AD. All the AD you need is for a respec and a mount. The rest, and even the mount really, is optional and can be obtained without speedfarming dungeons.)
Second, you cut your own throat by trying to speedrun only using /LFG. A 12k CW is perfectly capable of being useful in CN. Yet they let those people who need the drops to get enough overkill on GS to join them, starve on the streets. It's only making solo players quit and rich (in AD) people richer.
Third, I personally hate rushing through the content like that. People put hard work into it to make it pretty and entertaining. Rushing only shortens re-playability. If I rushed like that I'd have quit NW in 2 months out of boredom. Working the AH all day isn't my idea of playing a DnD based game.
Both are not faults in the system. The fault is with the player.
Completely agree with all of this. And is why I'd like to see some changes.
I'm a newer player and a HR at that. I feel slightly above GF's on the wanted for group list. Hitting 60 I thought I'd be running all sorts of things. Did my dailies and so on. Watching the LFG channel just makes me want to reroll. Have a level 32 cleric now. But alts have always bored me. I'm the type of person who can hardly sit for 2 hrs to watch the same movie. Let alone the 2 days of playtime it'll take to do the same content. But that's a different topic.
I agree the players are the problem. But unless they have some hefty plans in the works for their current system. I don't see things getting better. Some adaption is needed.
