Black Ice set for module 4?

You guys know if black ice set will be necessary for the new upcoming module? I mean, i just got my bracers and main-hand for my GWF for PVP. But i have another GWF for PVE and well, i'm so tired of farming Heroic Encounters and i just wanna know this. Maybe they will implement new dungeons with requirements of Black Ice Damage Resistance or something like that. It's always frustrating thinking about updates.

    Nobody knows yet.

If I had to guess I'd guess they will introduce a bunch of new resistances in module 4 , the Dragon Tiamat who is the boss in module 4 has 5 heads each with a different power so maybe we will require different types of resistance , nobody knows yet .

Well the word is that Mod4 will be both more pve and all level content. Not just end game. So take that for what its worth.

Buddy heard it in some podcast with some D&D designer.

Yeah I read it somewhere too , I think it might have been on the WotC website where they announced Tyranny of the Dragons , that will be interesting to see what they do , whether they alter entire maps or just add different new enemies.

My guess, you will have to grind killing different chromatic dragons to obtain dragon scales to make "Rainbow" Dragon Scale Armor so you will have enough resistance to fight Tiamat. Will Black Ice gear be necessary? Not really, granted the Tier 3 stats will most likely help with the grinding of encounters in Mod 4 but you could do as well with Tier 2 sets. If they continue with the weapon/armor consumes reagent concept, the new Rainbow armor will need scales to empower it. Also expect at least 2 pieces of gear to be gated behind some kind of RNG that will make it take 2-3 months to obtain. And even then you may not obtain it due to RNG gods hating your soul.

Will most likely be 5 different dragon lairs to explore dealing with Green, Red, Blue, White and Black dragons. I would expect Green to be in some kind of jungle/forested region. Red will most likely be in the volcano region. Blue should be in some kind of desert. White will most likely be somewhere in Icewind Dale. Black will end up being in some kind of marsh. Or having ways to fight all the existing dragon encounters repetitively.

I really hope this is true, they have focused enough on PvP for now.

    Enough pvp?
Only 1 kind of arena/dominion, just 5 vs 5, just cap a base
they implemented GG, and is the same as dominion, but you have to wait till is up :S
Open world pvp? just in a small area and with really few rewards, ppl is almost not playing that.

Probably is one of the worst pvp's there s in the market nowadays
What if you add some more "dominions" something like get the enemy flag, or hold an item, or last man standing, or adding Guild VS Guild , or team vs team (premade teams) or many many other pvp features...

We are FAR AWAY of having enough pvp

It would be very difficult to have a module involve players of all levels, unless they either used the "scary monster tech" where enemies scale to the player's level, or somehow used the multi-zone layout that Feywild and IWD have, where one of those zones has lower level content - even then, making it attractive for level-capped players is important, since the time you spend pre-60 is relatively short.

As for the black ice thing - I doubt it would have much of an impact in this new module, but we may see an expansion of the whole "overload slot" concept. More likely, we may see something like a new special damage type, and gear that focuses on resisting it.

I do hope that the black ice gear doesn't become obsolete, though
