Full set or mix?

Hello guys!
I read a lot of thread in this forum and learned many things. Now i wanna know if do you think is better a full T2 set grand warden or T 2.5 dread legion (2 pieces)+ T2 grand warden (2 pieces)? I tried both and i think is better to have the double T2 bonus given by 2 different set than the one given by grand warden full set (the amount of damage given by the full set bonus isn't impressive). Of course i didn't go over the hard cap for stats using dread+g.warden.
Generally i dislike the full set bonus of any armor set and i prefer 2 pieces of a set and 2 pieces of another, but talking with many HR i realised that many prefer full set, cos thy do more DPS with full set even if their stats are more far from the cap if they use mix set (2 pieces of a set and 2 pieces of another).
Finally my question is: It' better use 2 pieces of a set + 2 pieces of another set or 1 full set?
Thx in advance

I can't comment on the Grand Warden 4-piece set bonus but the cooldown reduction on the Royal Guard set makes a huge difference for me. Even after the Stormstep Action nerf I am still able to chain-cast my encounters and notice the difference when not using all four armor pieces. However, I have seen many HR's run with 2/2 sets for the differing ArP and crit 2-piece set bonuses.

    THX Lirithiel,
So you use to play with 4/4 royal, do you use full range, hybrid or combat build?
I wait a lot of answer, cos i think this is a subject with a lot of point of wiew and i will be happy to understand what could be the right set armor combination for each branch: archer, hybrid, combat cos probably differen builds means different set combination
    Thx in advance

My Archer has the 4-piece Royal Guard set and my Combat only has two of the four armor pieces, and for me the 4p bonus procs often. I will not be swapping out to Black Ice set for pve even if I get the T3 set, I just find the CD reduction too valuable to ditch.

Btw I still don't think Stormstep Action has been nerfed as bad as many might think. We only lost 1 second on the CD reduction at rank 3 and granted we have to delay our Disruptive Shot by a second now to get the full 2-second reduction if we plan on using it back-to-back, but with the Royal Guard 4p set bonus that is still more than acceptable. I still use Stormstep Action in pve and find that it still works fine.

I concur with Irithiel - I am going with the Royal for the same reason: cool down reduction. However, of your goal is DPS then a "double-split" in sets may be the best way to go.

One of the best features of this game is the ability to mix and match to achieve the goals you want to achieve. For me it's all about Encounter Powers cool down and it just so happens a full 4-piece set offers the best option to that end. I am focused on ranged play (top paragon path, I forget what's actually called).

I see it as this: though I'm not increasing my DPS by sheer power (DPS per hit) I am, rather, increasing my DPS through time (lower DPS but faster, or "more often" in the same time-frame) - so perhaps is kind of equals out in some way? I don't know.

    This is what I found

in the meantime I guess I'll need to work with numbers (if only we had a calculator for armor sets...)
