Hi, I play a lot of pvp and I've noticed a lot of imbalances. I am not a random pug and play lots of pvp, but right now I feel like the game is not very fun with people running around in troll comps of the most OP classes.
Let's start with what is kind of out of control right now.
GWF
[Combat (Self)] Critical Hit! Aleksalia deals 11953 (9091) Physical Damage to you with Takedown.
I have 40.6% DR, 19.5% deflect chance, 11% of the tenacity bonus...
this encounter does true damage and hits as much as another classes daily. It also gets a shortened cooldown.
On top of that, they have roar. A skill with a wide range when they already have multiple threatening rushes to close gaps...; This skill interrupts the other person's cast.
Threatening rush in itself minimizes any chance of missing a skill
Once a target is cc'd it is easy to kill them; Gwf's have multiple types of CC including roar, takedown, frontline... so just landing one allows for them to land another
HR
The new pathfinder paragon tree allows for some insane cd reduction similar to those early storm step days; An HR is relatively tanky with multiple dodges, but the damage output is now no longer balanced with their tankiness because they can cast two thornwards at once with another ticking DoT making it hard for any other class to match them on that point.
Relatively balanced
TRs: Their shocking has been nerfed and hits for reasonable damage; Whirlwind still ignores defenses like former shocking; Lashing hits quite hard now, however, I never thought lashing deserved that nerf because it is easily dodgable
In need of some buffs
CW: they lack survivability in pvp other than their dodges; HRs are like a better version of the CW; While cw's have nice burst and debuff damage they are fairly easily taken out by the aforementioned gwfs/hrs
DC:
Currently, the dc is one of the weakest classes in the game. They lack the ability to damage and healing depression has ruined any type of burst healing to recover from damage.

I think it's funny how a critical healing word only heals for 614 over time while a gwf encounter hits DCs for up to 11k with one hit and if it doesn't the cd is reduced... Once a dc is lower than half hp it is almost impossible to recover and half the time they are the target of cc chains
GF:
Slightly better than last mod, however, they cannot tank as well as a gwf can due to the block meter being fairly easily shredded
This is what I have observed in Mod 3 as a relatively high elo dc... The fact that everyone is taking advantage of the OP classes is pretty apparent when they run in 3 gwf/4 gwf/5 gwf comps and is ruining the balance of the game.
Indeed. I think I've posted my opinion on GWFs in mod 3 a couple of times. Let's just say that if the point to tenacity was to prevent classes from bursting down others (which was its official objective), the devs completely backtracked on that idea with GWFs.
And now several HRs have been using a build with incredibly huge amounts of regen + a few other things that makes them impossible to kill in a 1v1, and still gives them considerable damage output. It's still a bit new, and it's crazy.

Shocking still needs some modifications as it is useless now in PvE (even though in PvP it well hit too hard before). With shocking I can crit for about 20k on a target at about 25% health or lower. With whirlwind I can crit for about the same amount on multiple targets at any health level and instantly. Neither of these hits harder than our encounters, though, and we lack any sort of burst damage.
They should really be able to make powers work differently in PvP as opposed to PvE since in PvE most targets have considerably more HP. What is overpowered in PvP can well be pretty worthless in PvE (even the old shocking was comparatively weak in PvE, but it did have its uses (unlike the new version with absolutely no use whatsoever)).

I truly believe there will never be class balance. Once a class is nerfed or changed, people simply modify to the next OP build. Rinse and repeat. They nerfed Sentinels and now Destroyers are OP. They nerfed Stormwardens and now Pathfinders are OP.
I'd love for CWs to get some love, of course. I've stopped playing mine almost entirely and am focusing on my HR and GWF.
One thing that just make it even worse are the fact that so many people play a different class than GWF, and they suck at it, so it just create a situation where GWF can dominate anything.
A general advice for the players who have mediocre play but still wanna play at high end PVP: go play a GWF and stay away from other class thx, GWF are idiot proof you can be a bad player and still be useful.
Overall, pathfinder HR needs nerf, GWF needs nerf, and then game is balanced.
DC and CW are fine as long as the OP class gets fixed. GF are dead unless they decide to delete GWF.

sentinels were just fine.... i always told before it was a river of tears for nothing worth, and now it is really pain.
balance a meele class like gwf is hard, because the line between make it OP and Useless is very thin.
I think it is a class that should not have many ccs. roar shouldn't root and interrupt. it should not even have FS too. and threatening rush is HAMSTER. take all these out, keep as it is, and it would be fair i think, cuz althought gwfs are op, they are a bit squishier than sentinels.
but yes, something has to be done. the game is getting stupid. so many guilds going out with troll comps all the time, 2, 3 gwfs, or 2 gwfs 1 ranger with plaguefire "bugged" build...
sometimes you can fight off it, but you need a hell of a strong top team, otehrwise they smash down anything. not really complaining, i ran some troll comps myself, but i dont say no to guildies and pick comps and exclude other classes just because of a dam broken leaderboard. So it is very unfair with the other classes atm.

You make it sound like nerfing builds suddenly makes other builds OP. It doesn't. At all. The problem is, they're nerfing certain things and then creating new ways to craft even more OP builds. It doesn't matter much if you nerf something and then buff other aspects in ways that just lends itself to other OP builds. Class balance is (more or less) possible. The devs just have no idea what they're doing.

When rock can destroy both paper and scissors, it's OP. Not a particularly helpful analogy.
I am tired of pvp matches where a tr can stay alive and use its abilities almost back to back and stay invis while attacking those two points are what make the tr op atm since ppl are abusing int and spamming recovery. certain classes need specific changes done to stats not just stats for everyone.
Idk if it does more damage than Ice Knife but Indomitable Battle Strike definitely needs at least a slight toning down, the damage it deals is simply ridiculous especially with the buffed feat.

I am pretty sure it does more than anything. I know it does more than SE or lashing blade from a TR.
