Error 36: A file was locked...

i'm trying to load NW, but keep getting the following error when it gets to the of the patch test:

Error 36: A file was locked that could not be opened for writing. Restart in x.


i had patched up and was playing fine after the 7-9am patch time frame. This is, i guess, what i get for taking a nap.


i would have posted this in tech help, but there is no Post New button there.

    Nevermind. i launched again via Arc, instead of directly through the launcher, it patched again, and now i have the play button available. Going to be annoyed if i have to keep Arc loaded to play, though.

    Try running NWN as admin, I had the same issue and has not occurred again
