why is the download so SLOW?

    Let's see.

    Patch just went live for download not more than a few minutes ago.

    Lots of people downloading said patch simultaneously.

    Doesn't take much to figure out that maybe it might be running just a wee bit less than optimal speed at the moment?

    Yeah that seems to be a pathing issue specific to Icewind Dale, so they may have to make a pass on those areas so it doesn't get stuck in the terrain.

    It works fine in the other areas, but there's some kind of issues in the Icewind Pass and to a lesser extent Dwarven Vale. Its really acutely noticed in Icewind Pass.

    after 1 hour of patching ... 51%
    Also Gateway has issues for me.

    2.0% after 25 minutes. Beat this!

    Seriously, I've been letting patches in since Open Beta. My PC and net provider haven't changed. There were some slow ones... but never THAT slow. :(

    At least you all seem to have gotten it to start patching. Working on an hour of 'Patching dot dot dot' and not much else.

    But there is a ton of traffic and I have a fresh, Ice Cold 30 Pack with my name on it and nothing but time. I just started VACATION! Well actually its a Staycation!

    IT IS a lot faster than the patching back around March when Verizon was throttling us gamers!

    At least this time the patch doesn't stop at 3% every time I try.

    God I hate Verizon with a passion now.

    I love Neverwinter by the way :)

    Have you tried downloading the patch from the preview server and patching it onto live?

    cant seem to patch............... got to 85% wouldnt go any further then restarted my client wont even start now been doing nothing for 8 minutes so restarted PC same issue

    Not sure if it's the case, but I had this problem with a previous patch and it turned out my hard drive was full. So you might want to double check on that.

    Champions and Star Trek patched fine...

    Well at least some of you guys manage to patch it I have been waiting for almost 4 hours for it and it still says "Attempting to connect to controller tracker..."

    Never had this problem before, todays patch is the first time.
