So, I invoked yesterday morning. 2 characters. Closed last night, opened this morning, and guess what. All my coins are gone, not really a big deal, except I was at 5 and 6 on each character. What the hell, is this intended? Can I not perform necessary duties in real life, without being punished for it in game? Why does the counter not last until the end of the next day? I have stuff that have to be don e and I am pissed that that is almost a week wasted on both characters FOR NOTHING.

The counter does indeed last *at least* 24 hours, (29 IIRC). Either the game didn't register your invocation, or somehow those coins got spent...

Why would it run that way. I usually log around the same time to invoke, if nothing else, because I need the chest in hopes of upgrading a few things. However, if it is a daily thing, and I invoked EVERY DAY, then why should my coins poof? At the very least, the max should be extended to 36, to allow for time adjustments.I am busy, very much so on occasion, and should not be punished by losing something that takes days to replace, simply because I could not manage to return to the computer within 29 hours >.< That is stupid, a daily should be just that, daily.

The two types of coins fill 2 separate roles: Celestial coins are daily login rewards, and Ardent coins are long term/veteran rewards. They did add the ability to extend the timer to Sword Coast Adventures. I'm not sure why 29 hours was chose, TBH, though...

You could always invoke twice a day (which gives you alright ad for 2 seconds work). They could change it, but you're making a bigger issue out of it that what it is. Theres also the gateway where you can delay your invocation reset.

Problem with the praying twice a day, I was at work almost the whole time, and do not have access to a computer there. As well, I can not log onto gateway, as no electronics are allowed in the production area. You are right, it is not much of a "big deal", except it is not often I have a chance to log 7 days straight, so when I get close to that reward for daily login, I **** well expect to get the credit for doing it daily. I don't care if it's 35 hours and 59 minutes apart. If it is done on consecutive days, I expect the reward.

^ Here! Right here!

Why can't this happen, Cryptic? In what world do you live in that has 29 hours in a day?? This world runs on daily calendars. Surely you can code it to keep the coins accumulated until each invoke. Once you invoke, the code checks it with your last invoke. If past 24 hours AND on the next date, it adds to your coin count. If past 24 hours AND PAST the next date it resets to zero and this invoke makes one. Doing it this way helps those who know that they have gone past their time limit and will lose the coins when they invoke. A pop-up message would alert them at log in that their coins will be lost at invoke. This allows them to spend what they have before it being reset to zero.

It's not rocket science.

While i understand your problem, and feelings, Cryptic recently changed the timer from 24 hours to 29 - giving everyone another 5 hours to catch up and invoke. And a day is 24 hours - not 29 or 36 - so it is not unreasonable as a policy. And like most businesses, Cryptic can not make every single player happy - they have to do what works for the majority.

Proposed Invocation Code:
Is current invoke past 24 hours of previous invoke?
No - Invoke with general awards without earning Ardent or Celestial coin.

Is current invoke past 24 hours of previous invoke?
Yes - Is the difference of the current invoke's date minus the previous invoke's date = 1, -27, -28(for Feb and leap-Feb) or -29 and -30 (respectively for those invoking on the cusp of the month)? You would have to throw in some "does month equal this or that" to stop the exploiters from skipping a day between months....
Example: Invoked last on 5/21/14 7AM, invoke today at 11PM. My current invoke is past 24 hours and my current date of 22 minus last invoke date of 21 = 1. Invoking on Feb 28 at 7AM then on Mar 1 at 11 pm, 1-28 = -27
Yes - Keep Celestial coin count and add one to it, up to 7. Award Ardent coin and any other boons.

Is current invoke past 24 hours of previous invoke?
Yes - Is the difference of the current invoke's date minus the previous invoke's date 1?
Example: Invoked last on 5/20/14 7AM, invoke today at 11PM. My current invoke is past 24 hours but my current date of 22 minus last date of 20 is >1.
No - Reset Celestial coins to zero. Award Ardent coin and Celestial coin and any other boons.

Honestly, my computer code writing is archaic at best. And I get that most players already log on within a scheduled time frame daily. I normally try to get online in the morning prior to work. If I can't get to it the next morning but can when I get home, IMHO, I would expect to keep the coins that I have and add to it.
Come on, how hard is it to make invoking once a day on consecutive days spare your coins from oblivion?

I would just like to point out that the Celestial Coins lifespan last for thirty (30) hours and is extended another thirty (30) hours after performing an Invocation (or after finishing the Sword Coast Adventure, 'The Temple of Reflection'). On SCA, the countdown timer will only show 30 hours left remaining for a second then change to 29 hours and 59 minutes (and so on and so forth). It does not show the seconds part unfortunately until the last remaining hour.

When you invoke, you get an additional Celestial Coin (as long as you have less than 7) after twenty (20) hours of the last invocation that generated a Celestial Coin. Example: Today at 1pm you invoke and get a Celestial Coin. The next day when you invoke, as early as 9am, you will get a Celestial Coin (as long as you have less than 7). (The example mentioned assumes that the invocation attempts were done in the same timezone.)

When you invoke and you already have 7 Celestial Coins at that time, a message/windows will pop up informing you that you already have the maximum number of Celestial Coins. It also gives you the option that you can cancel the invocation attempt and trade the coins for your preferred reward OR ignore the warning, reset your Celestial Coins total to ZERO and push through with the invocation attempt. (I, myself, have NEVER chosen to ignore the warning as any sane player would do.)

Whatever happened to the OP's scenario may be a result of a bug or something else. But on my part, I have experienced it about three times already as I sometimes push the system to the limit at times (trans. shabby internet connection). Then the rage sets in !@#$%^&& :p

I sent a bug report about such thing as i noticed on my main char the coins are reset to zero since mod3, not sure about other chars, wrote it down will check today. Day back i invoked, got the coins and seweral hours later my CC pool was zero again, not sure if twas after relog or after picking contract in IWD. It IS buggy and will have to check the ardent coins as well today (also the other chars). Eighter the timer is buggy or the pool is not saved or the iwd campaign timers (contract expiration) has something with it.

This happens to me too since Mod3. I send a ticket already but no response.

I allways connect at the same time every day (more or less 24 hours) and ever lost an ardent coin because of invocation. Since mod3 I lost the ardent coins every day with main char. I have other char and he is fine, maybe because with the second char I cant go to IWD, I dont know if this is because I invoke in IWD with main char, but this is happening to me too.

I've got the same problem on my main as well. Celestial coins reset within an hour of invocation. I'll try to track down the exact time/situation this is happening, but I've got the impression this is done when I turn in my icewind dailies.

To the OP,

It may not make you feel any better but, in general, you just get junk from the Celestial Coffers anyway. It's very rare to get a coalescent ward. Most likely what you are missing out on is a peridot, or a rank 4 enchantment or two. Occasionally a preservation ward. It's not game changing stuff.

They just gave you your disappointment a few days early.
