Exactly!, my GF have 50.2% Damage Resistance + 21% From Tenacity, and 29% Deflect, it's near the limit of Tankiness and I still die easy if I'm v/s 2 good geared DPS/CC classes (because our guard break too fast and then we are pretty vulnerable to CC for the lack of of mobility) while a GWF can go Unsto, Frontline Surge/Takedown, IBS and 1 is down... in every forum you can see that ppl agree about these 2 facts, saying that GF is the worst class in PvP/PvE (others say that DC is the worst in PvP, but from what I see, most agree that GF is, and in both worlds, PvP and PvE) and GWF is OP.
I do agree too; it sounds kind of depressing to see now that the Devs seem to be content with the current state of a GF where not all of its powers are utterly useless. I still never saw a GF which were able to hold a point for long, -- except with much better gear than his opponents. Once the Guard Meter is broken it is a matter of seconds till a GF drops, no matter how much defensive stats he has thanks to the current diminishing returns.
And in the beginning the Guard was enough as GFs were able to kill some classes in one (or two for sure) rotations with their slow but hard hitting powers, but right now, due to the nerfs to the damage of the GF, the Guard is unable to keep up with the other abilities like Unstoppable; and so, the GF is frequently only able to watch his HP depleting because he has no more means to guard against the attacks but the enemies have many means to pierce through all his defences and the notion of a tank vanishes with his HP altogether.
Admitted, just reading about the powers of a GF gives me the impression that I see some kind of tank before me, but seeing the actual performance of all these powers in real situations dampens this impression again; so, I think the Devs are entangled in their theory of a tank and do not try to test this class, if they are content with how the class performs right now.
Yes, they are not totally useless, they have a use, although a little bit of use.

I am still experiencing major lags and rubberbanding while fighting Beholder or Remorhaz, with 20+ people on the same spot. And those bosses and adds still dissapear sometimes from my screen.
