...about shoehorning PvP into a PvE designed game

adressed to the Devs

1st concern:

How could you develop and come out with Mod 3 (that we agree is mainly PvP based) without using that opportunity for the introduction a skill distinction system based on wether you are in a PvP or PvE area?

Arenanet developed that in 2008....we are 2014!

Give them what they want in PvE without affecting the PvP gameplay and vice versa. It prettty much ends/resolves the animosity between both playstyles and gives you endless freedom to manipulate skills and balance the meta without affecting the game as a whole but only where needed.

Why you would choose to overlook this is beyond me.

Obviously you have chosen to allocate those resources elsewhere.

2nd concern:

...about pug life

PvP matches as a pug are reduced to pure hack & slash and KS. Why design a more subtle and sophisticated playstyle in classes like the CW and then proceed to remove all control from it, introduce quasi-constant immunity and make it vulnerable to KDs, interrupts, prones and stuns?

Add to that being paired with Dailies-AD-farming PvE players with not even a rudimentary notion or understanding of PvP dynamic, rotations, offense/defense ajustments and you're just a meat bag being bounced around the map while your team mates cap base over and over and over again. YAY! bravo

I wouldn't agree that it is "mainly PvP based". They tossed an arena in it, and used the opportunity of a new module to add a PvP campaign.

I think the PvP area in PvE is freakin' great. I don't have to do any matchmaking to join PvP if I want and I can go farm some phat black ice and risk getting spanked. It's jolly good fun.

Arenanet had/has a fairly large team working on balancing skills plus they collaborated with the community a lot as far as skill balancing was concerned (no idea if they still do) , I don't think cryptic has the resources needed for that.

pfft this thread just shows that you guys are new to the game, i have been playing since july and do you think im still running the same 4 dungeons over and over? no screw that. i min/maxed a pure pvp toon and completely geared it out because after 5 months of doing pure pve i got sick and tired of it and found new life and enjoyment out of purely doing pvp. you do your pve HAMSTER to gear up and do the true end-game of high lvl pvp
    Don't waste my time.

Yes, and after Saving the Realms, Heroes everywhere always want to kick the HAMSTER out of each other.

You know - just to see Who's The Hardest.

    Very Heroic.

And I can see this thread going nowhere but an epeen contest. Since I don't see any signs of constructive discussion, I'm going to just put this one out of its misery.
