Any common, uncommon, rare pots/elixirs/heroic feasts that give you a stat advantage. There are tons and tons of them and it gets pretty expensive to keep potting up especially if you do a lot of PVP
PvP pots are the purple potions that heal you. Everyone has always used those.
Elixirs are what you are talking about I think. They were never really used in PvP before. Now all the new comers to PvP are using them to try and get an advantage, so now all the mainstream PvPers are forced to use them also.

I hope that's what he's talking about, because if not... sheesh.
What else are you going to spend your glory on if not the pvp potions? I'm pretty much constantly capped on my character and it's one of my pet peeves that there isn't a decent glory sink around.

The real irony of this would be people thinking that it is wrong to use what is meant to be used in your favor in the first place.
What is this supposed to be? A doping test?

i just believe that if you needed to pot in order to kill someone, then you didn't really win on your own.
but the real issue is when gwf's/permas are constantly chugging them. they are already hard to kill and the pots pretty much guarantees they won't die without being focused.
focus-firing is actually a necessity though

If it's the pvp pot you buy with glory it's because when the pvp gear came out ppl was save glory to buy the new gear. Now ppl have the new gear so there back to buying pots again.Back before then new pvp gear came out every1 used them so nothing new there.

this can be said about any item or enchantment, it doesn't really prove anything... I could say the same thing about P.Vorpal, r10s and even classes...

And also companions in open world pvp by that logic

a gear discrepancy can be annoying, but it's not always the end of the world.
and despite how much i hate the new gwf's and permas on my rogue (although i can kill them if i completely change my encounters just for those permas), it's far easier to deal with those 2 classes on my dps cleric ironically.
wizards deserve to complain more about that than i do xD
I'm not complaining. I'm merely stating that companions in open world are merely a more transparent arms-race. Most people are ignorant to the occurrence of arms-race in regular PVP through elixirs/pots/pets/altars/foods
i just believe that if you needed to pot in order to kill someone, then you didn't really win on your own.
Then only people with the exact same gear, enchantments, boons and buffs are valid fights. If you have even a small difference between your stats you didn't win on your own.

Ridiculous.
PvP is, was, and always has been an arms race.
just so u know, it's the other guy who brought up gear. i only care about the pvp pots. you can continue to go on about gear but that's not something i care about.

what kind of logic is that... thats like saying if you needed rank 10's or perfect bilethorn/vorpals then you didnt really win on your own.
pots are there for all to have same as enchants.. so i dont see the problem of using them at all
if that's what everyone thinks then oh well. and yet premades say nobody dies and now i know part of the reason behind that.
edit: funnily enough i wonder if everyone knows i am talking about the glory pots that heal you
Try it.
Potions don't save you from a situation where a TR screwed up. It may provide a certain amount of advantage in a 1vs1, but its main use is for healing up in between combat. When actually in combat, the potion doesn't heal you strong enough to save you from even one good DPS hounding you. Heck, even Bloodcrystal Raven Skull + Potion give you what, maybe an extra 3 seconds to live? when being focused by just two good DPS classes.

and that's what i meant. those 2 classes/builds can survive 1 person long enough with those pots that they are near guaranteed to not die. permas may be squishy, but still able to outlast anyone that can't cc them b4 they restealth. then they come back at full hp a 8 seconds later.
They actually have a 2 minutes cd. I don't mind people using them. The most annoying ones are indeed the TRs, but as I mainly pvp with my cleric, I tend to use a lot of them, so why shouldn't others?
Also I don't think the overall usage has grown lately. Not any statistics to show, though.
The only time I don't use a healing potion when it's not on cooldown and my health isn't full is when I know I will be out of combat long enough to regen it anyways or a landscape potion is nearby. If you like pvp you will eventually have nothing else to do with your glory but buy health potions and salvage gear.
A health potion is barely noticeable when someone uses it in combat though, if you are seeing someone's health refill fast enough to notice it's probably an artifact and not a potion.

you are absolutely wrong, there is a difference between enchants that costs millions of ADs and are permanent upgrades versus elixirs which push you far over what is possible which just base gear. each elixir is like 2 r10s

...which can be bought for free, even from level 5 or something, by invoking everyday to receive coins.
So what's the probem here?

Gotta like it when they still lose

pretty sure it's more frequent than that

I'm sure requiring two lives to take down one person would be just as problematic.
